Wisdom of the Week – How to Earn your Wings

Firstly, I would like to wish you all have a wonderful Christmas.

Today is the winter solstice and it is important to understand how very special the 21^st of December is for us all. This date marks the end of an old era and the beginning of a new. As I have already discussed in past blogs, it will be on this date a year from today – the 21^st of December 2012, which will herald in the beginning of something remarkable – Heaven on Earth. The vibration of our planet has already changed and in 2011 we have seen people from Egypt to America speaking out against greed and dictatorship. Most of them will not know why, but they are reacting to this higher vibration. And as our vibration lifts, so we begin to master self-worth and as such, learn to speak out. Many will be removed from relationships and also work places that do not allow them to be what their higher selves have already agreed before they were born, in order to learn their life’s lessons.

This has been the year of preparation, for what is about to happen is a divine opportunity in your life – to earn your wings.

Numbers are hugely significant and 21 represents this great change brought in by the Universe. As such it is likely that today also represents the actual birth of Christ and not the 25^th, which has become the accepted date adopted by the Christian calendar. The number 25 has less significance and an event such as the birth of the only direct son of God to be born on our Earth would have signified a huge shift and therefore, the number associated with that shift would have been symbolic.

So how do we help to manifest this Heaven on Earth and earn our wings?

I was speaking to a friend who told me that when he presented a Christmas card to his nephew, the young man’s response was, “I don’t do cards.” My friend then quickly added that his nephew had little money. I suggested to my friend that his nephew could make his own cards. My friend’s reply was, “Not everyone is talented enough to make cards.” Before I had the chance to suggest it takes only a little imagination, my guardian angel reminded me that I did not always make my own Christmas cards and we should be patient with the young.

The card I made this year is from a poem I wrote called ‘Give’. The subject is a small child who wishes to be an angel and when she asks how this can be achieved, the angel responds by telling her, it is by the act of giving. Giving does not just apply to money. As Samuel my guardian angel told me earlier, it is giving patience to those who are less experienced than us. There are many terrible things we can see happening on our planet. If we are to change what we see, we do this by leading by good example. This means giving with kindness, tolerance and love.

Christmas symbolises a festival of giving, yet too often we feel this is confined to shillings and pence. Giving with our hearts is what is asked of us. Do this and the heavens will rejoice. I hope my poem helps. Happy Christmas.

Give

I wish to be an angel,

Just as beautiful as you.

I promise to be very good,

So tell me what to do.”

The angel smiled and said to her,

“You are to me and others.”

“But not to all my friends at school,

My aunt and older brothers.

I need to have some wings,” she said,

“Then everyone will see,

That I am very gracious,

And in Heaven they’ll believe.”

“And once you have your wings,

What would you do with all your time?”

“I’d fly about my friends to check,

That everyone was fine.”

“And what about your enemies,

Or people you dislike?”

“I think the wings would help me,

To explain I’m very nice.”

The angel smiled again and said,

“I see that you are keen.

I’ll let you know the secret,

But your mind may not agree.

The answer is to give,

Both when you’re asked or when in doubt.

For only greed and meanness

Is why some must do without.

Give charity and kindness,

Give time when you have none.

Then more in common you will be,

With God – who gave his Son.”

Wisdom of the Week – Choices

I was distracted from my daily routine yesterday by a great cry of squawking crows. As I looked up, I saw a fully-grown buzzard circling above me. The crows had gathered in huge numbers and were chasing the buzzard away from the area. In less than a minute the buzzard had retreated and a sense of peace was restored. I am very fond of all birds including buzzards, yet this wonderful display of courage by the smaller crows reminded me how we can make a real difference when we combine our efforts for the greater good.

Published in the media this week, a new poll by ‘Globescan’ has been released on nuclear energy and how much support it has globally:

“GlobeScan had previously polled eight countries with nuclear programmes, in 2005. In most of them, opposition to building new reactors has risen markedly since.

In Germany it is up from 73% in 2005 to 90% now - which is reflected in the government's recent decision to close its nuclear programme. More intriguingly, it also rose in pro-nuclear France (66% to 83%) and Russia (61% to 83%).

Fukushima-stricken Japan, however, registered the much more modest rise of 76% to 84%. In the UK, support for building new reactors has risen from 33% to 37%. It is unchanged in the US, and also high in China and Pakistan, which all poll around the 40% mark.

Support for continuing to use existing plants while not building new ones was strongest in France and Japan (58% and 57%), while Spaniards and Germans (55% and 52%) were the keenest to shut existing plants down immediately.

In countries without operating reactors, support for building them was strongest in Nigeria (41%), Ghana (33%) and Egypt (31%).” 1

Although the general trend is that people are significantly against nuclear energy than in 2005, there is little change in both the UK and the US. I was of course concerned that support in the UK had actually risen for building new reactors from 33% to 37%, even after the recent Fukushima disaster.

So why is the choice of using nuclear energy the wrong one to make?

We are here on our Earth to learn many things one of which is independence. Placing our energy needs in the hands of large corporations will not be tolerated by the Universe, while these companies consider profit over safety and the environment.

We are all fully aware of the risks and dangerous waste products associated with nuclear energy. When we deliberately decide not to act for the higher good, we attract karmic debt. Karma is exacting. Therefore, the more detrimental our choices are, the more serious our lessons and experiences will be. In contrast, when we act responsibly working in harmony with our beautiful Earth, we are rewarded.

The crows I spoke of earlier were not deterred by the size of their predator, but considered the welfare of their family before themselves. Their choice to combine together as a collective force and drive out this potential threat was the right choice to make. I hope the crows can help you to also make the right choice in sealing a better future for us all.

The poem reminds us there are enough resources for us all. Only greed leaves many with little and the privileged few, with more than they need.

The poem also illustrates the great power we have when we work together and when we do – we have the capacity to change the world.

A Blade of Grass

I do enjoy a blade of grass,

For munching and retorts.

From milk to pie it will supply,

A recipe of thoughts.

Then little yellow butterfly,

Discretely speaks to me.

“Please munch around my friend tonight,

There’s food enough for three.”

The blade of grass in solitude,

Is weak like any thread.

But bound within a multitude,

It’s quite a force to dread.

Wisdom of the Week – Thoughts

This week a survey was released to show that, “Villagers living on the Indonesian side of Borneo killed at least 750 endangered orangutans over a yearlong period, some to protect crops from being raided and others for their meat, a new survey shows.

Such practices, never before quantified, are now believed to pose a more serious threat to the existence of the red apes than previously thought, Erik Meijaard, the main author of the report that appeared in the journal PLoSOne, said Monday.
Indonesia — home to 90 percent of the orangutans left in the wild — was blanketed with plush rain forests less than 50 years ago, but half those trees have since been cleared in the rush to supply the world with timber, pulp, paper and more recently, palm oil.
As a result, most of the remaining 50,000 to 60,000 apes live in scattered, degraded forests, putting them in frequent, and often deadly, conflict with humans.”1

On the night of this published report my wife could not sleep and when she finally did her dreams were of the orangutans. She told me the next morning that she felt helpless and there was nothing to be done. She explained the Indonesians would argue what right have we to criticise them, when we have destroyed so much of our own native habitat for economic gain.

Her genuine love for these innocent creatures encouraged me to seek guidance from my guardian angel and I was reminded to trust in our Universe and in the power of thought. If each of us spares a thought for these creatures and sends wisdom to the people of Indonesia to honour the orangutan, then their plight will change.

Too often we neglect the power of thought and consider action as being more important – yet without thought, the process of action cannot begin.

How often do we think of someone and then soon afterwards they contact us.

We are all connected and as such we can make a real difference. Even the most difficult problems can be solved with the power of positive thought.

I would ask that you consider sending love and protection to these beautiful creatures. Thank the Universe for listening to your prayers and accept that your prayers have been answered.

I will leave you with a poem I wrote which shows the same love God has for all of us. It reminds us that none of us have the right to take the life of another. Change is but a thought away – the secret of success is to try.

The Ghost of Man

Dear Lord I have a question,

I wish to understand.

In life I was a holy man,

But put to death a man.

He said he was the Son of God,

A bad and blasphemous thing.

So was I right to kill this man,

Or was this man a king?”

“Every man that walks the earth,

Is born a son of mine.

And every woman given birth,

Is from the womb divine.

And yes, the Man you talk about,

Was destined as a king.

But no one has the right to take,

The life from anything.”

“How can a man be made the same,

As flesh of Holy Son?

For God is pure and man is flawed,

How can this thing be done?”

“The steps you take within your life,

Determine who you’ll be.

So living life as if the Christ,

Will bring you close to me.”

“This thing you ask,

Can not be done,

And so I’ll say goodbye.”

“Then let me ask this thing of you,

My son, just simply try.”

Wisdom of the Week – 11.11.11

Some of us know the special significance of this day. It is a time for celebration and to show gratitude for what we have been given. It is also a time to pray and help manifest the coming of the golden era. A new period where we will be at ‘One’ with the Earth and peace will extend to every corner of our planet.

To those of you who are not aware of what is happening at this time, at 11:11am the world will experience what is known as a cosmic moment.

The 11^th of November 2011 is in preparation for the 21^st December 2012, which is the second cosmic moment and the beginning of a new golden age.

On both occasions the Universe will be silent as a great light from Heaven fills our planet lifting its vibration to a higher level. We are blessed to experience this and to be here at this time. If possible we should use this opportunity to be at peace with the world and ourselves. We should extend our love not only to one another, but also to all life that we see around us.

The second cosmic moment on the 21^st December 2012 will also be at 11:11am. Numbers hold a huge significance and the Universe does not operate in a random way – it is ordered and exacting.

The number 1 signifies a beginning. When a number doubles the significance multiplies and so on. 11.11.11. is therefore the result of a huge beginning and one we should openly embrace.

At this special moment you may wish to share the silence with the Universe and extend a silent prayer in order to help lift the planet to this higher vibration. It is no coincidence that the Remembrance Day silence is also at this time and on this day (Armistice Day).

Below is a poem I wrote for ‘The Second Sparky Book of Hours,’ called ‘I Wish.’ The poem is about mankind, but uses the bird kingdom as a symbol of our failings, yet with our hope for a better future. The poem may help you focus on your own thoughts and prayers for this truly joyous and monumental day.

I Wish

I wish the birds from dawn to night,

Would always sing and never fight.

I wish the food that can be found,

Would freely spread itself around.

I wish the cuckoo understood,

The worthy joys of motherhood.

I wish the kindness crows can show,

Could be for every bird they know.

And only hungry herons fish,

I wish the world could be like this.

Wisdom of the Week – Motherhood

This week we saw photographs published by J Henry Fair. His ‘Spectacular aerial images show the devastation man has wreaked on America.

Pollution is exposed on a massive scale, creating striking vivid colours that highlight the scars of spillages, open cast mining, chemical and oil leaks, industrial decay and deforestation’. 1

Stored sulphur is dramatically veined by a blood-red polluted river at Fort McMurray.

A pond swirled with the world's most widely used herbicide, which is manufactured in nearby Luling, Texas.

The shocking red colour marks where the earth has been scarred by Bauxite waste from aluminium production, which contains significant amounts of heavy metal contamination. Pictured at Darrow, Louisiana.

Swirls are oil from BP's Deepwater Horizon spills at the Gulf Macondo well as it floats on the Gulf of Mexico.

On a positive note, I was moved to see photographs of a gorilla and her offspring. It reminded me how motherhood is relative to our stage of spiritual development and is an ever-changing process.

When we are children, we learn the lesson of trust. Later as a parent we have the opportunity to develop unconditional love.

So what happens once we master this?

There is another love which we must also learn. It is a state of ‘Oneness.’ It embraces everything around us and asks that we love and honour the Mother of our Earth and all that exists within Her.

The list is a long one and extends to every living creature including every leaf and rock. You may think this is too much to expect of anyone. To many the Earth is just a soulless supply of resources to exploit, but this could not be further from the truth. Once we learn to truly honour our Earth we can then extend this love to our Universe and then to the Cosmos, which is all of creation.

I promised some dear friends this weekend that I would discuss healing which is also related to what I have to say on motherhood. They have a friend who is ill and they wished to be reminded of how we can give healing to those we love. Healing is given always from the heart. It is from here your heart chakra radiates love. Ask for healing, imagine it and be grateful for the healing you have received and given. We can also send healing to our Earth itself. Source does not intend us to be victims on our planet, waiting to endure disaster or experience joy, depending on good or bad luck. We are encouraged to be Masters, creating a future of happiness and fulfilment based on our actions and thoughts.

My poem below is a story about how a child heals his grandmother and illustrates this power of healing, which we all have within us. In this poem Father Christmas helps a little boy to realise the magic he has within him. It reminds us that motherhood extends beyond the parent and its child and is the process of caring for those who are in need of our support. Our ever-caring Mother Earth is also now in need of healing. When we are children we act irresponsibly because we know no better and we look to our parents for guidance. But we must now expand our sense of motherhood to the Mother of our Earth and act as adults in order to sustain a future for our children. This is the state of 'Oneness'.

Our human mother once marvelled at us when we were first born. Yet our Great Mother – Gaia does this still. Remember from where we came and spare a thought for our Mother of our Earth. A Mother who loves us dearly, asks for nothing – yet gives us the ‘World’.

Timmy’s Gran

You may remember meeting

Little Timmy in the past.

But Granny you did not,

Except that Timmy one day asked –

That on the eve of Christmas,

If he really didn’t mind,

A pair of gloves from Santa,

For his Gran, would be most kind.

A year has almost gone,

Since Santa left his special gifts.

His Granny wears them when she can,

And Timmy treasures his.

He says his gloves are magic,

And that Santa would be pleased,

That when he puts them on,

He can do anything with these.

The past I now have given you,

It's time to now present,

A story of a boy, and what

To him, his Granny meant.

One evening through the window,

Flakes of snow began to form,

And Timmy’s Gran decided,

“We’ll need wood to keep us warm.”

Young Timmy was excited,

“Let me go I have my gloves.”

His Granny said, “I’ll come as well,

My eager little love.”

They ventured out together,

With a basket in between.

And Granny said, “There’s little

To compare to such a scene.

And with me walks my little gem,

I thank you dearest Lord,

For giving this old lady,

Still the chance, to be adored.”

They brushed between two conifers,

That caused some snow to slide.

A pheasant flew in front of them,

Which left them both surprised.

And Timmy cried, “My heart,

Dear Granny, beats so very fast!”

But Granny did not speak,

But fell upon the snow and gasped.

His Granny’s face was pale

Just like the snow and so he cried.

And then a voice said, “Timmy,

With your gloves some magic try.”

“I’m just a little boy,” he said,

“My gloves are made of wool.

To say that these are magic,

I regret, I’m just a fool.”

He shook his Granny by the arms,

“Dear Granny, please don’t die.

I’ll always tell the truth,

About my gloves, I’ll never lie.

You made me very happy,

Now alone I’ll really be.

Can you explain dear God,

Why you have taken her from me?”

But nothing was the answer,

He received and so upset,

He threw away his gloves,

And on his Granny’s face he wept.

So broken was his little heart,

The Universe was grieved,

And sent a sacred messenger,

In Timmy’s hour of need.

Our Santa stood beside the gloves

Discarded in the snow.

“I still remember giving you,

These gloves, a year ago.”

And Timmy looked behind to see

His Santa dressed in blue.

“I rushed to get here quickly,

Healing Granny you can do.”

He wrapped his arms around his Santa,

Crying as he said,

“There’s nothing we can do,

My precious Granny now is dead.”

“Now listen little Timmy,

Surely you believe in me?”

And Timmy shook his head,

“Then in yourself, you must believe.

Believing in yourself is then,

Not such a massive deal.

For in your little hands,

You have almighty strength to heal.

The gloves you do not need,

Just place your hands on Granny's side.

And ask the light of Heaven,

To bring Granny back alive.”

His hands were all a tremble,

But repeated Santa’s words.

“I ask the Universe for light,

To shine upon this Earth.

It shines above my head,

And through my heart, so I may give,

This healing, with my love,

And so my Granny now may live.”

And in his mind he saw the light

Run through his bones and veins,

And in his eyes he witnessed,

Granny smiling once again.

“I said that you could do it,

Little Timmy, now you know.

Anything is possible,

When love, to God you show.

Those gloves I fondly gave to you,

You must now understand,

Do not compare, to what you wear,

Within your heart and hands.

When life gets very difficult,

I say do not despair.

Ask and God will answer,

That's the miracle of prayer.”

Wisdom of the Week – Companionship

2011 is a magical year. This year means we will no longer be in a relationship that does not fulfil our soul purpose.
This week I took the plunge and opened a Facebook account. What pleased me was to see friends who had found companionship, even though they feared a future of loneliness.
Before we are born we choose our life’s lessons and the souls we wish to spend time with, in order to develop. These souls are people who have often been with us in a past life. It may be we have unfinished business, or from past experience we believe them to be the best people to help us move forward spiritually. The twist is we also choose people we consider to be our enemies. These are probably the most difficult tests for us, which is why someone we dislike should be viewed as our teacher, rather than a nuisance.

So why do relationships break down?
There are several reasons. But generally they are based on the need for us to change and learn what we have agreed. If we are not doing this with our present partner, then we will be removed from that relationship. However, tolerance and forgiveness can help us emotionally override a departure from a relationship.
Tolerance is not enduring unacceptable behaviour and boycotting self-worth. It means understanding the limitations of others and guiding them when they are in need of help.

So what about those of us who would like to be in a relationship but are not?
Again there are several reasons for this. We may still need to learn the lesson of self-worth or independence. If we lack these qualities, we will attract people who will either try to bully or control us. This is not healthy for either party. Sometimes we will find ourselves in such relationships to learn lessons. But our higher selves have agreed this at a higher soul level. We can of course at anytime decide to change the way we are being treated and move forward. Remembering we have free choice is very important.

There is of course one friend of whom we are often unaware. This friend knows everything about us and will help us more than we can possibly imagine, but we have to ask them. It is our guardian angel. Our angel is present at our birth and when we pass over. They keep our karmic records and can give us guidance that will always be for the higher good.
Angelic love is unconditional. Even though we may choose not to believe in them, they will still love us. It is this love we will eventually learn. The sacred bond we have with our partner where we practice kindness and forgiveness, is a start. Eventually we will master such feelings and extend this special love to all mankind and beyond.
Learning to speak to our guardian angel is not as difficult as you may think. We are all of spirit and therefore, we all have the ability to be psychic and connect with the Angelic Kingdom.

I have included a poem from my book ‘The Second Sparky Book of Hours,’ called, ‘Talking to your Angel’. My drawing above and the poem below may help you with this process of communication. It involves trust and the process of asking. Don’t be afraid or be tempted to feel stupid. After all, there is no better way to demonstrate your courage by believing without seeing, than to honour a loyal and loving friend.

Talking to your Angel

He asked me how to do it,

I said, “It’s up to you.

Talking to your angel,

Is just how I talk to you.

But don’t forget to thank them,

For answering your prayers,

And try to be specific,

In your worries or your cares.

Talking to your angel,

Is listening with your heart.

But this will only happen,

If you make a conscious start.”

“But who is actually talking,

Is not easily understood.”

“The devil’s plans are always bad,

An angel’s voice is good.

Talking to your angel,

Is just part of daily life.

Like talking to your brother,

Or your mother or your wife.”

“It’s really not that easy,”

He anxiously replied.

“I’ve listened and I’ve chattered,

But there’s nothing when I’ve tried.”

“The tiniest of messages,

Will be how they respond.

A word or sign upon your mind,

Will show you right from wrong.”

But even more excited,

And frustrated he became.

“There’s nothing you have said to me,

That helps me to relay.”

“Communication’s only heard,

When you are at your best.

So this means being very calm,

And trust will do the rest.”

Wisdom of the Week – Intentions

A friend of mine who has been living in North America for some years recently emailed me regarding the anniversary of 9/11. After mentioning how tragic it was, he then proceeded to enclose photographs of his gun collection and of he and his partner shooting on a rifle range. I resisted giving him my views on why 9/11 happened, but said, “Try to give up the guns if you can. There is much karmic debt that America will have to repay regarding these. Shooting themselves and others will sadly be the consequence.”

His response included more pictures of himself and his girlfriend, this time on a pistol range. Also his email was almost unreadable, even scrambled, except for the odd sentence, which was for example, “…inner city kids, illegal guns are unfortunately a part of their every day life…”

It would seem my friend considers himself to be a victim of circumstance rather than an ambassador for change.

So why was most of the text in his email unreadable?
When our thoughts and actions are filled with good intentions, the angels and the Universe support us. However, when we subject ourselves to fear and a lack of trust, our misguided efforts are hampered.
If the American public anticipate danger and so the need to protect themselves, they will then attract these scenarios. However, if their intention is to use guns in order to feed themselves and not to kill birds and animals for sport, then karmic debt will not be accrued.
My friend has emailed me many times. The cynically minded may say there was a technical reason why the text was unreadable. Nothing happens without reason and it is clear to me, the content of the email was attempting to excuse a practice which is universally unacceptable.
The American constitution allows citizens the right to bear arms and protect themselves. This could involve shooting another human being if they feel threatened. According to the laws of the Universe this is wrong. None of us have the right to kill another person in any circumstance. Until that lesson is learnt, many people in America with other nations who support the right to bear arms, will suffer much distress.
The poem and picture above is from my book ‘The Angel Book of Hours,’ and is the second part of my poem entitled ‘Trilogy of a Soldier’ – this second part is named, ‘The Mirror.’ The poem shows that people’s actions are a reflection of what we think of them. In order to bring out the best in others we must change the way we view them. Therefore keeping our intentions pure is an essential start.
If we can think of the needy and the desperate as souls who need help rather than focusing on their potential to harm us, then the world suddenly becomes a beautiful place.

Part ll – The Mirror

The soldier snapped his fingers,

“Frank Sinatra isn’t nice,

It really does annoy me,

When the phone rings more than thrice.”

And so the other workers

Did their best to push him out.

“The soldier’s always angry,

He is one we’ll do without.”

They sneaked upon his drinking,

He denied it to the end.

His senior said, “Goodbye,

Your actions I cannot defend.”

He sat upon the ground and wept,

“I’ve had to fight from birth,

And suffered for my country,

Is this something I deserve?

I want to be accepted,

And to fight in life no more.

So if there is a God, then tell me,

What I’m fighting for?”

His angel knelt beside him,

And whispered in his ear;

“Just think about a mirror,

It’s the mirror you can hear.

Accept and you will be accepted,

Love and you’ll be loved.

For few refuse the mirror,

Like your Father from above.”

Wisdom of the Week – Flight

Flying is often used as a symbol to represent our development and aspirations, by moving forwards and upwards. If you have dreams about flying or are given other signs like this, it is likely to be your angelic guidance helping you to realize your true potential.

A man recently told me he had a lot of hatred inside him, particularly towards his ex-wife. He related how he had spent much of his working life on oilrigs overseas so he could facilitate his dream to have a farm and breed racehorses. He achieved his dream and he and his wife owned two farms in Ireland. But one day his wife decided to leave him. He then explained that because she was Irish and he was English, the two farms went to her and he was left with nothing. He became homeless, without a job and living on a small pension. His four horses were kept now at his brother-in-law's and he was feeding them everyday by cutting grass along the road verges. He had been given a pacemaker and was having to sleep in his car each night, as he had nowhere else to go.
I told him that as long as he carried this anger around with him, both his health and ability to move forward would suffer. I explained to him that he had little self-worth and he agreed with me. I said “You will attract people who treat you badly.” I described how before we are born we choose the partners we need in order to teach us certain lessons. I said, “Your ex-wife has given you the opportunity to learn both self-worth and forgiveness. If you can forgive her for treating you in this way, you will be rewarded and develop enormously. After all, she has fulfilled her part of that old contract. It is up to you to fulfil yours.” He thanked me and sighed, “This is the first healing anyone has ever given me.” He then shed a tear.
From this point on I said he must imagine his ex-wife standing next to him and then ask Archangel Michael to release the contract he had with her. I said, “Imagine Michael cutting the cords between you and she – thank him afterwards and send thoughts of love to her.”
Two days later I saw him again and he said, “I did what you told me and as I saw him cut the cords, two other people came into my mind who I had forgotten, but who I still had much hatred for.” I assured him the angels were working to release all negativity that bound him to a life of struggle. “They are doing this because you asked and like us all – they want us to find happiness.”
I asked him what he had learnt from working on the rigs for all those years and to lose not only most of his fingers, but the two farms he had worked so hard for. He replied, “I don’t know.” I confessed that I was like him. I spent too much of my daily routine living in the future and not in the present.
“If you loved working on oilrigs then that is a different matter. But if you do something you dislike because of a dream in the future, it can often lead to disappointment. Living in the present means we do what we enjoy and appreciate that moment.” I reminded him that at least he was now with his horses and doing what he loved. “Now you will see your life moving forwards positively and upwards.” He thought for a moment, nodded his head and agreed.

We are all blessed with spiritual wings. This does not mean we become angels when we pass over, but means when our spiritual hearts open, our beautiful wings can be displayed. Their size and splendour are determined by how spiritually advanced we are. I hope this thought will remind you of your wings, even though you cannot see them, but know they are there. This will help you realize there is much we can achieve and aspire to. My poem below and drawing above is taken from my book ‘The Angel Book of Hours’ and is called ‘The Robin and the Angel.’

The birds are a constant reminder of the freedom we can achieve, defying gravity when so often we feel bound by earthly restrictions. When we focus on our wings, we too can defy the most difficult of challenges and begin to fly.
The poem also shows, that we are all experiencing stages of spiritual development and should understand we are much loved and even the smallest of creatures in our Father’s eyes – are hugely important.

The Robin and the Angel

The Robin asked politely,

“When I’m dead, where will I go,

And will I have enormous wings?

I’d really like to know.”

“Where would you like to be?”

The Angel asked in quiet response.

The Robin said, “I’d like to carry on,

Where I left off.”

“What makes you think you won’t my dear?

For that’s the way it is.

For what you want, you’ll have my dear,

Is that not how you’ve lived?”

“The other birds informed me,

Only Man will go to Heaven.

And this has made me very sad,

For I am nearly seven.”

“My dearest little bird,

Your Father loves you all the same.

So why would He not want you back,

With Him, from whence you came?

The journey He has given you

Is one of many tests,

And when you have completed them,

You’ll join Him in His nest.”

Wisdom of the Week - Protection

On Monday I received shocking and sad news that the man who had been shot in Kenya, who had his wife taken prisoner, was my friend David Tebbutt. I will miss him very much.

David did not believe in angels, in fact he was adamantly opposed to anything spiritual. This did not make him a bad person. On the contrary he was a very good person, always willing to help and did much for charity. What however it did mean, was that when he needed help himself, there was no one to turn to. We would have many excited conversations together on our train journey to and from London, which was where we first met. I was drawing a picture for my poetry books, as I did each day and we started talking. We had a lot to talk about. He worked for the UK’s largest independent publisher - Faber and Faber and I wrote, illustrated and published my own poetry and stories.
Our discussions on publishing, health, family and travel were always temperate. But it was often difficult to be guarded in everything I would say as an angel would pop up somewhere and a storm would start to brew.
It was no surprise to me when the press reported David as not giving the pirates what they wanted - David was a fighter. He was often ill and his family endured some challenging difficulties, which I am not at liberty to describe. As we would separate in the morning at the bottom of the escalators at Holborn Station, I would often think how difficult and stressful his life was. I would say to him that if I ever needed help, I would call upon the angels to ask for healing if one of us was unwell. When we needed protection I would call upon Archangel Michael. David’s response was that I was wasting my time with him.
The planet we currently inhabit can be a dark and negative place. We need to be realistic and understand that not everyone is looking for an opportunity to help another. We also need to understand that when bad situations occur beyond our control or ability to alter them - we must ask for help. Asking for help is part of learning self-worth and is not a sign of weakness, but of strength.
The poem I wrote some years ago is below and the illustrations are taken from my book, ‘The Angel Book of Hours’ and is called, ‘There’s Nothing.’ It is a true story of one afternoon I spent in Hyde Park, when I was feeling sorry for myself, but later found I could help a young lady who was in despair. A few weeks later her husband emailed to thank me. But I was only the messenger. It was Archangel Michael he needed to thank.

There’s Nothing

“There’s nothing I can do,” he said,
“To lift me from this debt.”
“We gave you once a vision,”
Said his angel, “Don’t forget.”

He wiped his tired eyes and thus replied,
“My dear you’re right,
I almost let your precious gift
Drift carelessly from sight.”

He walked towards the café,
Where each lunch-time he would draw,
But only in his wallet
Lay the flecks of hay and straw.

He thought about his horses,
It’s important they should eat,
Although that café latte
Would have made my lunch complete.

The waiter said, “I trust you’re well,”
The man replied, “I’m fine.”
“Would you then take a coffee, Sir,
The pleasure would be mine?”

His café latte came,
And sprinkled on it was a star.
The man said, “I am grateful,
Will you tell me how you are?”

The young man said, “A waiter’s life
Is really not for me.
But in my mother country,
There a doctor I would be.

But here I need to start again,
The fees I can’t afford.
There’s nothing I can do but choose,
A life of being bored.

I really miss my country,
And that’s where I would return.
For there my girlfriend’s waiting,
But it’s here I need to learn.

The man replied, “Please will you try,
To think about this thought;
Your country is this planet,
But this point is rarely taught.”

The young man said, “I do agree,
Your counsel will you give?”
“It matters not, just where you are,
But who in life you’re with.

Your family is different now,
A parent you will be.
So focus on the present,
And a greater family.”

The young man thanked him very much,
“I’ll leave you now in peace,”
But as he left a lady said,
“I’ve listened to your speech.”

A younger girl said, “So did I,
Are you a sort of coach?”
The man replied, “Not really,
But I’m often now approached.

So many people worry,
And they come to speak with me.
I seem to give them answers,
Which they very clearly need.”

The lady said, “I can’t believe
In God, but what you say,
Has made me think of life,
In such a very different way.

I’d like to know about you now,
Please tell me your religion?”
The man replied, “It matters not,
For God accepts we’re different.”

The lady said, “Unhappy,
For so many years I’ve been.”
The man replied, “You have a lovely smile,”
Then how she beamed.

A smile that could have warmed,
The coldest hearts, this lady had.
And so she shook him by the hand,
“To meet with you - I’m glad.”

Then as she left the young girl said,
“Her cheeks glowed like the sun.
Her change I see, but as for me,
There’s nothing to be done.

And nothing is the answer,
You will give to me because,
My problem is too difficult to solve,”
And then she sobbed.

He asked her for her name,
And she replied, “My name is Lee.”
He said that, “There are problems
Which will help you to believe.

For desperate situations,
We must all accept our turn,
But what will seem so bad
Becomes the chance for us to learn.”

She said, “There is a man,
Who waits in prison for the day,
When he will be released,
And then to take my life away.

Three years ago he threatened me,
That if I told a soul,
He’d kill me but I couldn’t take,
The beatings any more.

And now I have a baby,
Deep inside, for us I fear.
The day of his release,
I dread to say is very near.

We cannot move, my husband's tried,
To sell our little flat.
We sit in fear just waiting
For the day, he will be back.”

The man replied, “I can’t deny,
Your problem could be vast,
But not for any angel
For their help you need to ask.

The man that sits in prison,
In your heart you must forgive.
So send him in your thoughts your love,
Without you, then he’ll live.

You think this man must hate you.
But the line is very thin,
When judging if it’s love or hate,
That lies so deep within.

One thing is clear he cares,
Enough to enter still your life,
So sending him your love
Will help his anger to subside.

I ask you now to call upon,
The strongest soul I know,
His name, Archangel Michael,
For protection where you go.

The Universe is strict,
And though an angel wants to help,
This thing they may not do,
Unless requested by yourself.

For on this Earth we’re given choice,
And it is too our right,
To suffer if we wish,
But you must step now to the light.

So find a quiet corner,
Light a candle if you wish,
And ask him to protect you,
And then thank him much for this.

Do worry not about your child,
But trust this deed’s been done,
For now you’re very different,
And much stronger you’ve become.”

The young girl clasped him by the hand,
“I’m very pleased we spoke.
I’ll do this thing you ask,
I feel at last, I now can cope.”

He watched her leave, then shed a tear,
“My dream seemed out of reach,
But now you give me hope,
In the great power of my speech.”

And once again his angel said,
“We all have different strengths.
Embrace what God has given you,
Believe this thing is meant.

The gift of helping others,
From so many you deny,
When thinking you can only walk,
But really, you can fly.”

Wisdom of the Week – Butterflies

The butterfly reminds us of the merits of change. There are many times when we feel life is a struggle. The butterfly shows us that nothing stays the same and our noble efforts will be rewarded. Bless the butterfly when you see it and try to keep plants in your garden the butterflies enjoy. Their numbers are diminishing. The work they do is very important. Some of the plants butteflies like are listed below. Familiarise yourself with one of these. There will be one plant name that will resonate with you, for even this small thing will help our planet much.

They are: Buddleia, honeysuckle, nettle, dandelion, knapweed, aster, alyssum, forget-me-not, petunia, hydrangea, primrose, clover, milkweed, wallflower, iris, globe thistle, lavender, mint, runner beans and thyme.

Allow a few rocks in your garden so they may bask in the sun. A shallow pool of water like a bird bath will also attract them.

Avoid using pesticides anywhere in the garden. Hedges will also protect butterflies from wind and predators. Fences and trellises covered in honeysuckle or vines will give them an ideal environment in which to flourish.

Butterflies

Basking in the morning sun,

On Saturdays is better done.

For fear of clumsy busy feet,

Are safely twitching under sheet.

Then butterflies do call on me,

With metamorphic histories.

When once they crawled on aching chins,

Rewarded now with angel’s wings.

Quiet moments of reflection show,

This gives us what we need to know.

All creatures held in pain and strife,

Will seek reward in later life.

Wisdom of the week – Humility

This week saw pictures of Colonel Gaddafi’s son showing the victory sign and a headline proclaiming his intention to uphold his father’s regime, vowing to chase the 'rats' out of Tripoli. The following day the same son was reported to have fled. Also his father was now in hiding.

The ancient Greeks strongly believed in the importance of humility. They had two words that described the act and consequence of arrogance, which to them what was an unforgivable sin. These were 'Hubris' and 'Nemesis'.

Hubris denoted overconfident pride and arrogance, (arrogance before the gods). While nemesis was the spirit of divine retribution levelled at those who succumbed to hubris.

The teachings of Christ also reminded us of the importance of humility – ‘Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.’1

This week twenty people escaped unhurt from a fire that broke out at Richard Branson's luxury home in the Caribbean. The cause of the fire was a lightening bolt from a large hurricane that is moving towards North America. Mr Branson said,

"My office was based in the house and I have lost thousands of photographs and my note books which is very sad. But all family and friends are well - which in the end is all that really matters."2

This hurricane, now named ‘Irene’, has been described as marking the first big threat to the US in years.

Many times I have written about disasters that will continue to occur during this period of cleansing to our planet. I have also explained how we can avoid these disasters and how important it is to learn from them. In the case of the recent Japanese nuclear disaster at Fukushima, you will see how selective the damage was in focusing on nuclear power stations and the fishing industry, both of which had incurred large karmic debt. You will see this happening with Hurricane Irene. However, we have been prepared in the case of this hurricane and Mr. Branson and his family escaped and are well. The hurricane is a warning. If we don’t learn from this disaster, the next lesson will be more severe.

What have we done wrong?
Indulgent living is unacceptable while others are starving. Some of us are given great privileges and it is the moral responsibility of those who have much to help those who are without. Before the shift of our planet from a 3^rd to 5^th dimensional frequency, our greed, neglect and hubris could be repaid over several life times. Now we are experiencing instant karma. This means we will suffer our nemesis immediately. There are two main factors bringing about the cleansing of our planet; global warming and thus the need to replace fossil fuels with safe, clean energy; world hunger brought about by greed and desire for power. It may be Mr. Branson and North America could do something significant to bring about this change.

What can we do?
A very important Ascended Master came to me several years ago and gave me a huge collection of verse to help raise the vibration of the planet.
One of the most powerful messages was the importance of gratitude.
It was important not only to think gratitude, but to actively speak it and to demonstrate gratitude by helping others.
The term ‘humility’ has found its origin from the word ‘Humus’ – being the Latin for earth and ground.
It is a reminder from where we have all come and where our bodies will finally rest. However, our spirits are huge entities that will continue. It is the spirit of us all that can bring about positive change which we must now learn to focus on.
Be thankful and be kind to everything. For when we honour our brothers and sisters, we truly honour ourselves.

The poem I wrote below may help. Many of my poems are meant as small mantras to remind us how we can be the best of ourselves. Some could say the poem is sentimental, but I would disagree and say it shows our humility and our ability to be grateful.

Wisdom of the Week – Trust

Yesterday I found myself chasing a baby moorhen around our property as it became separated from its parents and fellow chick. First it decided to enter our main building only to hide behind furniture. Eventually I encouraged it out of the door, after which it ran into three other rooms. Twenty minutes later it fled into the bushes – the parents were nowhere to be seen. Concerned, I asked the angels to reunite the chick with its parents. I was then reminded that I must learn to trust more.

An hour later I saw the family reunited and once again all seemed well with the world.

A lack of trust reflects our need to control. We are not here on our planet to control, nor could we if we wanted to. Everything around us has its own path and its own fate. All we can do is observe and trust that all is as it should be.

However, it is taking control of ourselves which is important. We must always work towards the higher good and offer help if we are asked, or if someone is clearly in need. The little I did to encourage the chick to flee our buildings was limited. It took the parents of the bird and help from the Universe to finally reunite them.

This week scientists from Nasa’s Planetary Science Division produced a report entitled, ‘Would Contact with Extraterrestrials Benefit or Harm Humanity? A Scenario Analysis.’

“The researchers divide alien contacts into three broad categories: beneficial, neutral or harmful.

Beneficial encounters where their possible help to advance our knowledge and solve global problems such as hunger, poverty and disease.
However, "Green" aliens might object to the environmental damage humans have caused on Earth and wipe us out to save the planet.
The most unappealing outcomes would arise if extraterrestrials caused harm to humanity, even if by accident. While aliens may arrive to eat, enslave or attack us, the report adds that people might also suffer from being physically crushed or by contracting diseases carried by the visitors.
The authors warn that extraterrestrials may be wary of civilisations that expand very rapidly, as these may be prone to destroy other life as they grow, just as humans have pushed species to extinction on Earth. In the most extreme scenario, aliens might choose to destroy humanity to protect other civilisations.
To bolster humanity's chances of survival, the researchers call for caution in sending signals into space and in particular warn against broadcasting information about our biological make-up, which could be used to manufacture weapons that target humans. Instead, any contact with ETs should be limited to mathematical discourse "until we have a better idea of the type of ETI we are dealing with."1

Nasa has known for some time about extraterrestrial life. It is positive that Nasa is becoming more transparent by discussing the subject of how extraterrestrials may affect us, rather than if they exist at all.

I discussed in my blog of 25 March 2011 ‘Beware of the Deceivers’, what extraterrestrials would do and the evidence we have of their intentions. In the blog I explained that through complex crop circles extraterrestrials are giving us messages and signs, in order to help us from destroying our planet and ourselves.
My blog also showed the importance of the data strip message Carl Sagan, famous astronomer and advisor to Nasa, sent into space in 1974. The response was received 27 years later, sadly 5 years after he had died.

This recent Nasa report calling for caution in sending data about ourselves into space is based on fear and suggests we can control forces more advanced than ourselves. Of course we cannot.
Extraterrestrials currently monitor our skies; the sightings have been numerous. They have formed many complex crop circles and therefore must be more technically advanced and as such are more spiritually advanced than us.
If they wanted to attack us, they would have done so already. They work for the higher good and they too are trying to spiritually develop. Killing others who are vulnerable will not achieve this goal. They will however intervene if necessary. The future can be determined very simply by basing man’s outcome on the consequence of man’s actions. This is according to the spiritual laws of the Universe that govern us all and cannot be altered.

On 28 January 1986 the Challenger space shuttle began its 10th mission. The shuttle carried six astronauts and a schoolteacher. Just 73 seconds after take-off over Cape Canaveral space centre, the space shuttle exploded. All seven astronauts were killed. The name of the shuttle was a clear reminder of its intentions, driven by the dream of conquering space.

On Thursday ‘A Russian communications satellite, the biggest to be built in Europe, went missing hours after takeoff.

The £146m satellite was sent into orbit by a Proton rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan and disappeared just as flight controllers began to celebrate the launch.

If the Express-A4M satellite is irretrievable it will be a bruising failure for Russia three navigational satellites for the Glonass global positioning system crashed into the Pacific, off Hawaii, shortly after blasting off in December.

The satellite weighed 5.8 tonnes and was fitted with 63 transponders and 10 antennae. It was designed to provide digital television, telephone and Internet services across the former Soviet Union. 2.

Satellites destroy the navigation systems of birds, bees, fish, dolphins and whales.

Because we are moving closer towards the shift of our planet from a 3^rd to a 5^th dimensional frequency, we will no longer be allowed to destroy the planet in the way we have. I explained this to a barrister I met on a train several weeks ago and he said, “What about free choice?” My response was, when we are ignorant we do not accrue karmic debt. But when we know what we do is wrong, we will suffer the consequence.

How does trust help us to build a better future?

Trust there are higher forces guiding us.
Trust in the karmic laws of the Universe and that good deeds will be rewarded, but our failings will have to be repaid.
Trust in change – only when we change can we grow.
Let go of the need to control.

The poem I wrote below is called ‘The Kingfisher’. It shows how trust involves courage and how we can combat the most difficult challenges when we trust.

The Kingfisher

He could not know what lurked below,
Where murky currents gently flow.
The cunning eye of sabred beast,
Lay waiting for his royal feast.

The pike was angry, sad and mean,
The bird a lovely shade of green.
For there he sat on twig of birch,
Surveying silver backs of perch.

His friends sung disapproving songs,
“To leap in blind is simply wrong.
There could be anything in there,”
Was heard by pike with greedy stare.

Then silver skin of dace appeared,
As turquoise feathers disappeared,
And great commotion filled the stream,
While feathered folk began to scream.

“The pike has caught the little bird,
There’s nothing we can do,” was heard.
“The seething monster’s teeth are red,
As bird lies on a sandy bed.”

But still the fighting soldiered on,
Until the pike had finally gone.
And resting on a mossy bank,
A tired bird with luck to thank.

For few can tell such fishing tales,
When how his beak did spear the tail,
Of giant beast ten times his size,
And for his courage still survive.

Not always can we see or touch,
Those things in life that matter much.
When courage is for you a must,
Then all you need to do is trust.

Wisdom of the Week – Forgiveness

I was at a dinner party this week when a friend and another gentleman expressed their concerns over the treatment of white people in South Africa. The friend of mine said, “Many whites are now in a very bad way and on the breadline. At least when the whites were in power they would give the blacks jobs. But now the blacks are refusing to give them work – this is wrong.”

I explained that like the rest of the world, South Africa has huge karmic debt accrued by earlier generations of white South Africans and this Karma must be repaid. Now younger generations have agreed to repay that debt at a higher soul level. The quickest way they can do this is to forgive those who choose to not help them.

Another friend emailed me with her concerns over the recent riots in Britain and was looking for comfort in these turbulent times. I will therefore, explain what is happening and how we can stop further unrest.

We are not here on this planet to be controlled by others, but to take control of our own lives. The riots this year started in Tunisia and then Egypt and as predicted by the spiritual community, spread. This unrest will surface everywhere from Moscow to Beijing – London and other cities will not be excluded. The reason is that we are all changing and moving closer towards a 5^th dimensional frequency. 5^th dimensional people do not let others dictate unfairly to them, yet at the same time they do not believe in violence. This transitional period moving from a 3^rd to a 5^th dimensional planet will mean there will be violence. It will last as long as there are 3^rd dimensional people who exploit our freedom of expression for peaceful demonstrations in order to create chaos. But it is important to remember that we are all here to grow.

These riots represent the desperation of the under-privileged and ill-educated, who are striving to live on very little, often with poor prospects. They are probably unable to respect those in authority when they see leaders who have plenty and where corruption is rife from expenses scandals to phone-hacking.

Government should live in the present. Instead it is more concerned with keeping the financial books healthy, rather than caring for the health and welfare of the people. On Tuesday the government urged people not to seek advice from social internet sites, which it claimed instilled fear. But this is also wrong as it demonstrates more of an interest in control by discouraging people to freely express their views.

The outcome of all this unrest will mean small communities will gradually form, firstly for safety reasons and then later relying on collective skills and resources to survive. Once people have found independence within a community, the need for central leaders will no longer exist.

I repeat the point I made before – we get the leaders we deserve.

It is important to remember that not everyone is as fortunate as ourselves and we should consider how we might behave, if we too were desperate.

How do we solve the problem of social unrest?

Trust that everything is as it should be. From these difficulties a better world will rise, not only for us, but also for future generations. How difficult that journey is – depends on you.

We are here to learn tolerance and mercy, not hatred. Just like the white South Africans who I mentioned at the beginning, we too are repaying karmic debt with this unrest. We must therefore be responsible by ensuring the cycle of negative energy does not continue – and extend healing and not hatred.

A few years ago I undertook a meditation with a very advanced spiritual guide and I asked him how to be a better person. He gave me one word that later became the subject of my poem below.

I hope this poem helps you consider that offering care and education to those less fortunate than ourselves, is better than condemnation.

An Almighty Word

This day is almost ending,

And so I leave to you,

A word that will encourage you,

In everything you do.

This word will solve your problems,

This word will make you strong,

And those you have rejected,

From this word, they will belong.

This word we use in bed at night,

When asking from the heavens.

So charity that’s well received,

Must also then be given.

This word applies to everyone,

No matter what they’ve done.

On using this I must insist,

Much better you’ll become.

One wondrous day,

This word will say;

No wars, no hate, no greed.

But such a mighty word as this,

Is difficult to seed.

Though difficult to say,

It’s quite impossible to live,

Within a world that’s peaceful,

And not learn the word – forgive.

Wisdom of the Week – Courage

It is dangerous to compare as it forces us to judge. The results can either leave us feeling smug or inferior – but today I am compelled to do so. This week saw Saudi Arabia take a key step towards building the world's tallest tower and outdo its Gulf neighbour Dubai.

‘The Saudis awarded a more than $1 billion contract for a spire that will soar two-thirds of a mile high, to be named the Kingdom Tower. It will have a Four Seasons hotel, serviced apartments, luxury condominiums and offices, encompassing, in all, about 5.4 million square feet.

The plans make Saudi Arabia a front-runner in the race between the oil-rich Gulf nations for glitzy, architectural trophies that dot their desert territories with glimmering skyscrapers and elaborate, man-made islands. The projects are seen as status symbols to show off both economic success and cultural sophistication.’ 1
The tower alone will cost $1.2 billion to build.

In contrast, ‘The images coming from across the Horn of Africa are bleak: skeleton-thin babies being held by their underfed mothers, crying for food in refugee camps, wasting away in front of the lens.

The drought in East Africa is being called the worst the region has seen in half a century. An estimated 12.5 million people are facing starvation in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya, along with parts of Uganda, Eritrea and Djibouti. It's so bad that aid workers have dubbed this region "The Triangle of Death."2
The UN estimate says US$2.5 billion is needed to save all drought victims.

The comparison is an obvious one to make and something of which we are all guilty. While our egos reach for the clouds and beyond, from the exploration of space to the building of other icons and spectacles, our brothers and sisters are decaying in the dust.
Courage is the ability to act for the higher good and put others before yourself.
It is speaking the truth, when many are frightened to do so.
Courage is believing in your own power and not be intimidated by the power of others. It is knowing that belief is stronger than cynicism.
We have all been brought together on this planet from different places. Some of us have experienced many lives and have learnt to love nature and be at one with it – I call these people ‘The Children of the Earth.’ Others are young souls who have much to learn or engage more in the masculine, logical and ambitious side of their brain (the left side), opposed to the feminine, creative and spiritual side (the right side). There are of course some who choose to engage both sides equally and have learnt balance. You will know these people – they are kind, gentle, but still strong.
We are all capable of being such people. The key to this is courage.
A wonderful lady called Daphne inspired the poem I wrote below. It was written at a time when I felt the whole world was against me. Then one day a small woman stepped forward and reminded me, how beautiful human beings can be.

Dear Daphne

Daphne saved my life today,
A debt that’s very hard to pay.
Outnumbered by a gruesome crew,
The valiant wings of Daphne flew,

And swooped amongst fierce teeth and claws,
While others watched behind closed doors.

Both tired and bruised but still alive,
I asked dear Daphne what she’d like.

“What can I give for all your help?”
She said, “Do this for someone else.”

Wisdom of the Week – Self Worth

I was having dinner this week with some friends and one of them told me discreetly, that he had trouble sleeping – suffering terrible nightmares. I told him it was likely he was taking his worries to bed with him, in which case he was spending his resting hours in the ‘astral planes’ which is a troubled place. I said you need to ask the angels before you go to bed to take you to the ‘spiritual planes’ or to one of the many Archangel retreats. There you can ask for healing and for your concerns to be clarified.

My friend responded by saying that he never asked for anything for himself, only for other people. My response was that it is impossible to love and honour others, until we learn to truly love ourselves.

On this subject of self worth, it is fitting that in this week the Chinese people reacted once again to government control and corruption; ‘After two Chinese bullet trains collided in the south of the country, killing at least 39 and injuring more than 200, Mr Wen duly arrived at the scene.
Standing on a patch of gravel on Thursday that had been cleared of the wreckage, the Chinese premier promised to "get to the bottom" of what had gone wrong and apologised for not arriving sooner, blaming an 11-day illness and doctor's orders to rest.
In the past, that might have been the end of it. But on Thursday, Mr Wen succeeded only in ratcheting up public anger a notch.
Within hours, photographs of him in seemingly perfect health at various functions over the past week had been posted on the internet and Mr Wen was accused of being a liar. His tears at the sites of various disasters over the years had already earned him the mocking title of China's "Best Actor".

What has changed over the past year is partly the growing inability of China's leaders to control free speech, both in the traditional media and over the internet.

As it loses the battle to control the population through the media, and through internet and video surveillance, the government has resorted in recent months to displays of raw power, sending squadrons of paramilitary police on to the streets of several cities to prevent riots.

China now spends almost £60 billion a year on "internal security", more than on the People's Liberation Army. But it has not been able to stop the number of riots from tripling in the past five years to 180,000 in 2011 – or 493 a day – according to a professor at Tsinghua University.’ 1

The lesson of self worth like any other we are learning is so often forced upon us. A situation can become so intolerable, that patience and tolerance are no longer an option and we feel compounded to react in a forceful way. However, Mahatma Gandhi’s approach to the unfair rule by the British was one of non-cooperation. He showed that with reason and through peaceful means, his people could reign victorious over a mighty regime.
My blessings and prayers for courage go out to the people of China, that they too will find the strength to stand up for themselves with dignity, but in a peaceful way. Their weapon is the truth and in knowing when we are united, no regime however powerful can hope to be victorious.

I asked the angels which poem they would like me to leave with you and they showed me this one. It was inspired by a lady I knew called ‘Patricia’. I think you may agree – the angels made the right choice.

Patricia

Patricia had a problem,

She didn’t like to swim.

But as a baby duckling,

Her fate looked rather grim.

But then one twilit evening,

A visitor arrived,

To glare at mother’s frightened brood,

And then to seize his prize.

“Patricia, jump,” the others cried,

“This breath could be your last.”

And so it was Patricia learnt,

To swim extremely fast.

Wisdom of the Week – Freedom

Sometime ago I met two good friends for lunch in Hyde Park, Matt and Jody. I suggested we all write on a piece of paper what we wished for more than anything else. I tore three small pieces from a sheet of my writing paper and after we had all scribed a single word, we tucked them away in the corner of our wallets and purse.

Jody wrote on her piece of paper, ‘Healing.’ She left her job and is now a talented healer, offering homeopathic remedies as a safe alternative to conventional medicine. Matt chose, ‘Happiness’. The change I have seen has confirmed his wish is steadily being granted.

I chose ‘Freedom’. I said to the angels this week, “Some say freedom has a price.”
The response they gave me was, “Freedom is prizing yourself over money and fear.”

Like most of us, I have relied on a job to survive. The thought of walking away from this with no means of supporting myself and my dependents, seemed like madness. Yet in the end I was forced to do so. My strength was knowing the Universe would not abandon me and when we show trust – we are rewarded.
Last week I discussed how we are all being forced to confront transparency. The same also applies to living a life that fulfils us, so we may discover our sense of worth. Freedom is a state of detachment whether it is an emotional chain or one of material need. It is our own thoughts that imprison us and not the actions of others.

I have waited to write this page. I say be patient, for only when we are truly ready can we embrace our self worth and declare we are finally free.

The poem below is based on a conversation I had with a blind girl and her mother last week. She enjoys considerably less freedom than most of us. As I will no longer see her, it would be nice to think the many good friends I left behind, may consider in my absence to stop occasionally and put something in her hat – from me.

The Blind Lady Sings

Her mother crouched upon the floor,
A woollen hat displayed,
The contents that a Knightsbridge tube
Could offer on this day.

I placed within the empty hat,
The little change I had.
I asked her, “Are you happy?”
She replied, “Some days I’m sad.”

I said, “Why do you do this?”

And she smiled, “It pays the rent.”
I asked her if that every day
Could not be better spent.

“I hate it when it rains –
And when it’s cold and others cry,
‘Your voice is very weak’,
When in my heart I really try.”

I said, “Your voice is beautiful,
Much pleasure this does bring.”
“I hope we speak again,” she said,
“But now I need to sing.”

Wisdom of the Week – Transparency

This week’s newspapers saw rare pictures of Rupert Murdoch grinning from ear to ear. My initial thought was, you only smile when you know you’re in trouble – giving the impression there is nothing wrong.

The angels immediately reminded me that Mr. Murdoch is no different to the rest of us. If he is not fulfilling his soul purpose and working for the higher good, he will also be forced to change. Whether he fails or not will depend on him and not us.

Because the Universe expects transparency from us, it too is transparent, allowing us to receive answers to the many mysteries that have resulted in confusion for centuries.

While scientists scratch their heads as to the structure of the Universe for example, spirit has downloaded such information through clairvoyance to now share with us all.

I recently asked the Universe to show me a map of the cosmos. The angels asked me what I knew of it already. I said, 'I know there are twelve Universes.' They confirmed this and showed me a clock. They then asked me where I thought source (God) was? I quickly replied, ‘In the middle.’ I then said, ‘But the Universe expands does it not?’ They confirmed this and showed me an image, as we expand so does God.

Excited by this discovery, I thought I would ask where my planet of origin was. This is the place where we started our life’s lessons after leaving the Godhead. Many assume we have all begun on Earth, but this is not the case. Earth has been part of the evolution for some of us, again this is not the whole story.

I waited for two days and then the angels answered my question. I was sitting on a train when I noticed someone reading a newspaper article about a planet that had been discovered, which could support life. The planet was called ‘Gliese 581g’. I was mildly interested but as I continued to read, I was transformed into a state of wonder as I discovered this planet was in the Libra constellation. I am a Libran.

I was telling a friend about my remarkable discovery and he said, ‘I’m a Taurus, does this mean I have always been one?’ I asked the angels and they confirmed to me this was the case.

Because we are out of touch with our natural Earth, our lack of understanding extends to our Universe. Ancient civilisations would have understood the significance of our birth dates, which is why the zodiac calendar has evolved the way it has. We forget that everything has significance; therefore, an important event such as our birthday will have huge significance.

We should resist pointing the finger of blame at those who continue to disappoint us.

In the case of Mr. Murdoch, many said nothing through fear and for personal gain. Millions of others continued to support his industry through advertising and subscription. If we spend our time exposing others and making money from their misfortunes, then we will be exposed and others will benefit from our misfortune. However, if Mr. Murdoch shows a change of heart, the smile he showed this week could one day be genuine.

Again in the news this week, the worst drought in 60 years has affected 10 million people in the Horn of Africa and there are many who are starving and dying. This would be a good place for Mr. Murdoch to start his change of heart.

We are all of God. None of us can hide from Him and as such from ourselves.

My poem below reminds us of our purpose on Earth. It is a personal favourite of a dear friend of mine. He said it was a strong reminder that we start off with good intentions, yet so often we forget.

The transparency of our failings should therefore be seen as a friend – keeping us focused on the higher path.

Grow

You may remember meeting,

Mrs. Moorhen and her young.

But now her work is over,

Mrs. Moorhen wants some fun.

“More hens, more work are not for me,

More sleep, more food, more breaks.

For what’s the point of life,” she said,

“To give and not to take?”

The reason why we’re here at all,

She really didn’t know.

“No need to lie,” I thus replied,

“We’re on this earth to grow.

Of course you may believe our souls,

Do simply not exist.

So think before you later find,

The point of life you’ve missed.”

A moment’s silence followed,

As the moorhen chose her words.

“Please tell me how my soul can grow,

I’m just a stupid bird?”

“In saying that my little friend,

You’ve made a mighty leap.

The rest will come with patience,

And a will you can succeed.

The tests in life that stunt your growth,

Are hatred, worry, greed.

But kindness, trust and generous love,

Will give you all you need.”

The moorhen was excited,

“Well, this news is really great.

I’ll never lie and rarely sigh,

At anyone I hate.”

“There’s something else I wish to say,

You haven’t got there yet.

For sadly what we learn today,

Tomorrow – we forget.”

Wisdom of the Week – Detachment

I was waiting for a tube train at Knightsbridge station this week, when five youths decided to sit on the edge of the platform with their legs dangling over the rails. At first I waited to see if someone would approach, but there was no platform attendant. It was also very crowded so it was likely the CCTV camera could not see them.
I then asked the angels to give protection to these silly boys and was surprised by the answer the angels gave me. They said, “You do something.”
As I approached the youths, I discovered they were foreign and asked them if they spoke English. One boy nodded. I said, “The train will enter the platform very quickly and you may not have time to remove your legs.” He then replied, “The train is not coming for another seven minutes.” My response was, “What you are doing is extremely dangerous, I am not an official, but if they catch you, then you may get into serious trouble.” The boys then stood up.
Although there were many people present, no one intervened. Some may say the numerous onlookers were practising detachment, but this is not the case.
The boys were clearly in danger. They were sitting close to where the train enters and a scramble at the last minute to remove their legs could have been fatal. I have been travelling on the tube for many years and seven minutes can pass very quickly.
There were several reasons why no one acted and these were based on indifference, fear and ego – none relate to detachment.
Detachment is acting for the higher good of all. It is understanding we are all 'One' and when we need to, we get involved, but in a detached way. Being detached is not a state of indifference.
When we practice perfect detachment we master our emotions. We do not concern ourselves with what others may think of us. Nor do we engage in fear, believing we will receive a violent reaction – we remain calm and independent of the situation.
I was telling a friend this story and he began to create a new scenario of someone being stabbed, he said, “Would you then go after the attacker?”
I said, “Of course not – I would tend to the injured person and then get an ambulance.”

When we are truly detached, we can then make the right decision. It is of course more difficult to do this with those who are close to us. However, if we wish to spiritually advance, detachment is a lesson we all must learn.

The poem I wrote below is about a scarecrow who is not valued, but does little to defend himself. He relies on trust and higher forces to improve his fate. He also resists the temptation to judge – which is the key to detachment and brings contentment.

The Scarecrow

They teased him ’til December’s snow,
Embraced his rags with silver glow.
“A snowman you shall be tonight,”
The winter laughed in strange delight.

By morning Scarecrow looked his best,

As crows vacated cosy nests,
To find the subject of their scorn,
Had suffered such, he’d finally gone.

“I never can forgive myself,
Perhaps we caused undue bad health,”
Was on the beak of every crow,
As guilty seeds began to sow.

That night each crow did swear a pledge,
While perched upon a frosted hedge:
“No longer will we taunt your name,
Dear Scarecrow, please return again.”

And so the wind and rain that night,
Left Scarecrow in the morning light,

Just as he was before the snow,
Amongst a jubilant flock of crows.

Two lessons I have learnt today,
To send me on my merry way:
Appreciation’s often found,
By others when you’re not around.

And though a crow may seem annoyed,
It could be he is overjoyed.

Wisdom of the Week – Abundance

I was forced this week to take a taxi to the station as our car broke down. After ringing six taxi companies the seventh answered and drove me to the station. I was interested to know what the Universe had in store for me and this was revealed in the conversation I had with the driver. I said to him, “Have you always been a taxi driver?”
He said, “No I just fell into it after I was made redundant.” I suggested for a moment he should forget about money and I asked him what he would really like to do?
He replied, “I’ve always fancied being a grounds man at a golf course.”
I told him that his dream job was not very difficult to achieve and asked had he ever approached a golf course, even for part-time work. He said, “I hate to admit it – but no.”
His reasons were based on a lack of confidence and apathy.
I explained that we could all have what we desire in life. Abundance comes from trusting that you can have this and visualising your dream. It involves acting as if it has already happened and is the principle behind the Universal Law of Manifestation.
Like anything we desire whether it is healing, a relationship or even money, we need to ask and be grateful for what we will receive.
It is important to always mention that your request should be for the higher good. If you want to add ceremony when asking, light a candle or go to a beautiful or quiet place – Angels and Unicorns love these things and it will help you to connect with them.
Make your wish clear and thank them afterwards. Shortly after this you will notice signs that change is occurring. You may see something in a newspaper or overhear a conversation that will plant a seed. Spirit is guiding you, so trust in this, but with discernment. Again – remember to ask that this will be for the higher good. If it is, then do not hold back but believe in yourself.
In last week’s blog I explained that everything is as it should be. There is a huge shift as the workplace is now attracting much anger, frustration and bullying. This week saw the revolt in Greece, one of many we have seen since the uprising in Egypt on the 25th January of this year. These uprisings were predicted by the spiritual community and are part of us being able to shake off the old 3^rd dimensional ways of exploitation, greed and control and to move towards the 5^th dimensional principles of fulfilment, freedom and taking responsibility for our own lives.
As the taxi arrived at the station, I told the driver unless he had an electric car and could generate his own electricity, he would not have a taxi service in the near future. The Universe will not allow us to destroy our planet with pollution and fossil fuels. Therefore, we will be forced to change from more natural disasters occurring.
As I walked to the platform I thanked the angels for the subject of this week’s blog and also thanked the taxi driver for what he had taught me. It is this – that both fear and apathy can hold us back from living our dreams. How many of us believe that paid work cannot be something we can enjoy? How many of us believe we will be without and never experience abundance? How many will suffer before we learn to finally believe in ourselves.
I crafted the poem below around something Samuel, my guardian angel once said to me. Abundance is not a state of wanting, but of knowing. To be like this we have to be a Master. I hope Samuel’s words will help you.

Samuel Says

Samuel says, I wrap my worries,
Tightly in my head.
And just before I need to rest,
I take them all to bed.

Samuel says, I need to sleep,
And will do very soon.
So through the open window send,
Your worries to the moon.

Samuel says, I judge too harshly,
Faults of those I hear.
But very few are perfect,
And that’s why on earth we’re here.

Samuel says, I panic,
With the tasks I haven't done.
But quiet reflection will reveal,
That time and I are one.

Samuel says, I think too much,
My mind is just a riot.

So Samuel says, just calmly ask,
My mind to please be quiet.

Wisdom of the Week – Synchronicity

A friend emailed me with this question, ‘What is it about the number seven – why so lucky?’ After explaining the significance of this number I finished by saying, “There is no such thing as luck. However, if people believe seven will bring them good fortune, then this will be so.”

This Wednesday saw the release of the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei by the Chinese state government.

On the same day, “Hundreds of people were killed and another 8,000 injured in a strong earthquake that rocked a remote mountainous area of north-western China on Wednesday.

Following is a list of the country's most deadly reported quakes in recent years:

April 14, 2010: A quake with a magnitude of 6.9 kills at least 400 and injures another 8,000 in the remote north-west province of Qinghai.

May 12, 2008: A 8.0-magnitude quake strikes the southwestern province of Sichuan, leaving nearly 87,000 dead or missing. Another 4.45 million are injured in the worst quake disaster to hit China in more than three decades.”1

The list the news website provides is a long one, but the point has been made.

My wife asked me why the Chinese had finally agreed to release the artist Ai Weiwei. I said the Chinese are a superstitious people and their leaders now believe they are being punished for wrongly imprisoning someone who dared to speak out against their dictatorship. First with the recent floods and now with this earthquake.

However, tragedy does not befall us because we are cursed. We attract tragedy through our actions and thoughts. This also applies to when we wish to attract abundance. The difference between being cursed or repaying karmic debt is an important distinction to make. The first, blames a third party for one’s actions – the second takes responsibility for one’s actions.
Coincidences in our lives are signs by our angels and guides that we are on the right or the wrong path. Our Universe is not the consequence of chance but is exacting. If we have done wrong then this karmic debt must be paid. If we have done well, then we will enjoy the fruits of our rewards. The timing of such events is also orchestrated by spirit. In knowing this you can be sure that all that happens to us is for a divine reason and at the right time.

In the case of China, it may seem the people are the ones who are suffering and not the leaders and industrial powers responsible for accruing this karmic debt. Many people at a higher soul level have agreed at this time to remove the backlog of exploitation to both people and our planet. The suffering of the Chinese will show us the consequence of not honouring each other and will encourage global compassion and aid. These terrible disasters will help to cleanse our planet, as the souls who die will take with them the negative energy that generations have created. The Chinese people will also begin to take charge of their lives and no longer look to a few proactive individuals to make decisions for them. Only through such a huge physical shift can these changes take place.

Being late, unlucky, or another such failure should no longer exist in your life. You are in the right place at the right time and living the consequence of your thoughts and deeds – that is how your Universe works.

My illustration above is for a poem I wrote for ‘The Sparky Book of Hours’ called ‘The Dragonfly’. One of the most useful ways in helping you to synchronize your thoughts with the Divine, is to avoid judgment. I hope this poem will help you to achieve this.

The Dragonfly

Until today I can’t deny,
I’d never met a dragonfly.
The ugly picture in my head,
Was lashing teeth and spindly legs.

A mutant with a violent tongue,
Just burning homes and eating dung.
Great scaly back with stubby wings,
The cursed fiend a nightmare brings.

On meeting Mr. Dragonfly,
I found him quite a pleasant guy.
Incased with jewels and crystal wings,
An undisputed insect king.

And so I have decided to,
Be cautious when I form my view.
For what will occupy our minds,
In truth, is rarely what we find.

Wisdom of the Week – Understanding

Our understanding develops not only with time but when we scrutinise every aspect of ourselves. This week I was party to a conversation where a young man was telling another that he disliked rats and mice. He said, “I have no problem with people doing experiments on them.” The other man said, “I agree, but I think experiments should only be for things like medical research and not for cosmetics.” I then intervened and said to the first man, “It may have been in a past life you were either a mouse or a rat.” He replied, “That doesn’t affect me because I don’t believe in religion or reincarnation, so it’s not a problem.”
There are three levels of understanding this conversation illustrates. The first level is very basic, the second is more enlightened and the third level understands why such creatures exist. It is important not to judge a person’s view but to see the opportunities for growth for all concerned. Both these men will in time understand that any life form is not here merely to be used for our own convenience, but should be honoured in the same way human beings are. When we value all life forms and understand, we are all ‘One,’ we advance spiritually to a much higher level – the positive outcome this brings to the planet and our souls is then breathtaking.
More than forty years ago when I was in the church choir, I remember being troubled by something our Vicar Reverend Barnes would recite as part of the Christian service. It was this: “Thou art not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under thy table.” Even as a child, this seemed to me to have far more to do with control and less to do with an all-loving God.
What Reverend Barnes was referring to was the dogmatic interpretation by the Church regarding ‘original sin’. In the spiritual world it is understood as karma. The common spiritual understanding is that we have accrued karmic debt from our past lives and we are here on Earth to learn and to repay that debt. In some cases we are here to receive payment for our past good deeds. It is important to remember that difficult challenges in life are not only a consequence of karmic debt, but are lessons our higher selves have undertaken in order for us to develop. However, to condemn any of us knowing nothing of our past lives, but simply because we are in a physical body is clearly wrong. This bizarre principle would also extend to the innocence of a child.
Then one magical day I was resting against an old London Lime tree and to my astonishment my question of karma was answered by this beautiful tree.
For many years I had talked to trees as I discovered they were the keepers of knowledge. I befriended this one tree in particular and when I connected with him, he would give me wonderful insights, many of which were in verse. What the vicar and the tree had taught me was to trust not in what I was told, but in what I can feel.
It is this self-seeking for independent understanding that brings us closer to our higher selves and as such, closer to God.
Most people would consider me quite insane to be talking to trees and it did puzzle me how I could relay long passages of poetic verse, which had a wisdom of its own. As I was pondering on this, resting against my tree’s bark, he showed me a dream, which I had experienced when I was very small. I still remember the detail and my parents at my bedside, because they were awoken by my screams. In the dream I was chased down a stone corridor by Roman soldiers. The moment I awoke was when a sword was plunged into my chest.
Later that week my wife told me about an historical fact that she had read concerning the Governor of Roman Britain, Gaius Suetonius Paulinus, who with his army in 61 AD was responsible for murdering a whole community of druids on the island of Anglesey, as they posed a threat to the Roman Empire. Suddenly the penny dropped and I understood that my question had been answered.
Numbers are significant and it was no coincidence that in that past life, I died in 61 AD, but was born in 1961 in this one.
The word ‘Druid’ means, ‘oak knowledge’. Druids passed their teachings on through verse. They would train for twenty years before they could teach others and were known for their connection with the trees. It was now clear that I was once a druid. We are all an embodiment of our past. However, when we use the ‘present’ wisely, we can become beacons of guiding light, carving out a future that attracts love and peace to all things.

My tree’s poem below is helpful in reminding us how wise nature can be and not to view the Earth’s silent, gentle species with indifference, but with love and a deep respect.

My Dearest Tree

My dearest tree, it’s only me,
I’d like a quiet word.
In all your great experience,
How best do God I serve?

Should I have been a prophet,
Or help others with their health?”
“The only service you must learn,
Is how to be yourself.”

“That seems to be too easy,
And besides I’ve often tried.
But sadly being me involves,
Much anger, hate and pride.”

“You need to be, ‘the best in you,’
And understand your worth.
For you were made of goodness,
Long before you walked this earth.

You may believe you’re sinful,
Only learning to be good.
But this is not the way it is,
So change this view, you should.

Remember then from whence you came,
And you will be inspired.
Almighty God is in us all,
And badness you’ve acquired.”

Wisdom of the Week – Heaven on Earth

I explained to a man I met this week that due to the shift of vibration to our planet, we will see once more – Heaven on Earth. He said with assured authority, “We have never had Heaven on Earth before”. I replied that we had, albeit for a short period, (1,500 years) which was in the reign of Golden Atlantis.

After that the man said very little, either because I was discussing something he had limited knowledge of – or because he thought I was totally mad.

It is this assumption that there are some things that are impossible to achieve, that I wish to focus on.

Heaven is situated in the 7^th dimension, which is why it is often described as ‘Seventh Heaven’. It is a place where angels and unicorns dwell. It is a place of healing and peace. If you believe you can be there and raise your frequency to this level, then you can spend time here once you have passed over.

I have kept this blog short as I wish you to focus on this thought – the key to discovering Heaven is to no longer condemn those who disgust you to a life of Hell. This is difficult to do but is instrumental in liberating us all.

When someone who has committed terrible deeds dies, they go to a place of healing. If they show regret for their actions, then they are able to continue their soul’s lessons in the inner planes before embarking on another life in a physical form. If during this time others send thoughts of condemnation, then this will have dire consequences to the sickened soul. In contrast by sending mercy and forgiveness, this will enable them to recover and to learn how to open their hearts and engage in a life with love. Heaven on Earth is therefore within our own grasp. We should not see ourselves as the victims of other people’s bad actions. Instead we experience consequences when we are reluctant to change our own hearts. So quick we are to condemn, yet we may take a lifetime to forgive. The heart of God is mercy. Be like Him and Heaven will stretch before you.

The picture above illustrates a poem I wrote called, ‘Heaven is in your Heart’ and is taken from my book ‘The Angel Book of Hours’. The heart is a place of wisdom and serenity. It expresses kindness and humility. When we use our hearts we use the best of ourselves. I hope this poem will remind you how beautiful you can be.

Heaven is in your Heart

“I can’t but help imagine,

Just what Heaven’s really like.

Where bad is banned and every man

Is always very nice.

No debts, no greed, no mouths to feed,

Is something worth pursuing.”

Then in his head his angel said,

“That’s surely what you’re doing.

For Earth is still a place,

Where good intentions make their mark.

The Heaven you are seeking

Can be resting in your heart.

For you will choose if people greet you,

Kindly or with blame.

Your inner feelings mirrored,

They will treat you just the same.

The debts you brought upon yourself,

You chose in the beginning.

And though this may seem very strange,

Debt vanishes with giving.

The Earth provides a bounty where,

The rich and poor are many.

A simple change of heart removes

The cry of empty bellies.”

“I’m just a single man,

The problem’s bigger than you think.

I wish you’d be more practical,

I really need a drink.”

“Pretending that the problem

Isn’t there or not for you,

Will not create Utopia,

And sadness you’ll pursue.

Underestimating actions

Of an individual’s worth,

Is just the way of limiting,

A Heaven here on Earth.”

Wisdom of the Week – Power

A line manager in the work place once said to me, “I could make your life Hell if I wanted to.” He finished by saying, “That is power!” My reply was, “Only if I let you.” I explained that power was not controlling others, but the ability to control ourselves.

‘BERLIN — Europe's economic powerhouse, Germany, announced plans Monday to abandon nuclear energy over the next 11 years, outlining an ambitious strategy in the wake of Japan's Fukushima disaster to replace atomic power with renewable energy sources.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said she hopes the transformation to more solar, wind and hydroelectric power serves as a roadmap for other countries.

"We believe that we can show those countries who decide to abandon nuclear power – or not to start using it – how it is possible to achieve growth, creating jobs and economic prosperity while shifting the energy supply toward renewable energies,"’1

On hearing this news my heart wanted to sing. I saw evidence that the vibration of the planet was finally lifting and I sent my love and gratitude to the German people for forcing this change upon its government.

‘The decision represents a remarkable about-face for Merkel's center-right government, which only late last year pushed through a plan to extend the life span of the country's reactors, with the last scheduled to go offline around 2036. But Merkel, who holds a Ph.D. in physics, said industrialized, technologically advanced Japan's "helplessness" in the face of the Fukushima disaster made her rethink the technology's risks.’2

I believe however, there was something more powerful to change government opinion and remove this dangerous technology. Credit to the German government for changing their decision is due, but the bulk of the credit should go to the German people who demonstrated.

‘Many Germans have vehemently opposed nuclear power since Chernobyl sent radioactivity over the country. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets after Fukushima to urge the government to shut all reactors quickly’.3

Governments are made up of people. People are always reluctant to change unless they have to. When we change the world changes – this is power.

In contrast, ‘French Prime Minister Francois Fillon, whose country relies on nuclear power to produce 80 percent of its electricity supply, insisted "there's no way" for the European Union to meet its emission-cutting targets without at least some nuclear power.’4

What Mr. Fillon says is of course not true, but in order to achieve ‘emission-cutting targets’, change needs to take place and the power base needs to shift away from the huge energy companies and rest with smaller communities providing for their own energy needs. Empowering individuals to provide their own solar or wind power is something at present, industry and government will resist at all costs – but this will happen. When this happens is entirely up to you.

I understand that even with government grants, the technology is still prohibitively high for most people. Be patient, the situation will change and the opportunity will present itself sooner than you think.

Following this positive news, the Guardian then reported, ‘Global warming: Bleaker and Bleaker. New figures show we are still hurtling towards dangerous climate change – at a time when policymakers are running out of ideas.
Sometimes a quotation really says it all. As chief economist of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol is not given to overstatement – so his comment in our paper today that the latest figures on greenhouse gas emissions are “the worst news” should be taken seriously. It is not just that the statistics showing another record leap in carbon output – 30.6 gigatonnes of CO2 over 2010 – to make the highest annual total in history are grim. They also come at a point when the old centrist certainties about how to tackle climate change are palpably out of date, and yet no new ideas have come along as replacement.’5

So what is the answer?
I have mentioned in several of my blogs, that a shift in vibration to our planet to a higher level in 2012, will bring great changes. These are already happening as we will see people taking charge of their lives and relying less on others. Current governments cannot solve this problem of climate change, as they do not act purely for the higher good – but we as responsible individuals can. Many feel despondent that we have failed, as the many natural disasters and statistics on climate change reveal the consequences of previous actions. However this is necessary. If you can imagine the planet with a huge boil which from infection becomes sore. Eventually the boil will burst. How violently it bursts depends on whether we treat the planet sensitively or subject it to further irritation.

So who can help us?
It is right that governments are helpless and have lost control of climate change. It is safe to say they never had control to begin with, for if they did, the current problem would not exist. The power is now with each and every one of us to bring about change and what has been forecast once again on our planet – to see Heaven on Earth.

How do we do this?

• Remember who you are. You are a divine being of God. This will bring you the self worth that you deserve.

• Congratulate yourself on what you have achieved. Only the strongest souls can cope with the challenges Earth presents. You have seen great change and everyone has played their part. This will bring you hope.

• Trust that you have enormous help from the Universe. Great angels, spirit guides, and other divine beings are assisting us all to achieve this. Ask for their help. This will bring you strength.

• Keep love in your heart. This will bring you peace and the will to act always for the greater good.

I was telling a friend about the subject of this week’s blog and he said excitedly, “Of course power is information.” I was reluctant to agree with him as many believe this, but for the wrong reason.

If we hold on to something we know in the hope it will secure wealth or the need to control, then no one will benefit. Give freely and freedom will stretch before you. Hold on to what you think is valuable and it will turn to dust, diminishing in the depths of a memory.

My friend in some respects was right. Information is power – but to give and not to keep. You could of course use your power now and pass on what I have freely given to you.

My picture above illustrates a poem I wrote called ‘Power’ and is taken from my book ‘The Sparky book of Hours.’ The poem does not need an explanation, but the ant standing upon a walnut shows the scale of his authority. This reminds us that we in relation to our Earth and the Universe are even smaller still and to keep our feet firmly on the ground.

Power

The mighty ant announced to all,
“My friends this is your hour.”
But whirling round inside his head,
Were evil plans of power.

His reign was short, his debts were long,
And on his dying bed,
He asked his guardian angel why,
Though young, he’d soon be dead.

“Your quest for power can not be,
You had responsibility.
And with it only goodness rules,
Abuse it, and you lose it all.”

Wisdom of the Week – Independence

This week saw Iceland's most active volcano, Grimsvotn, erupting.

On Tuesday at 8.22am on The BBC Today Programme Transport Secretary Philip Hammond said this time airspace was prepared and we would not see a repeat of aircraft being grounded as they were a year ago saying, “There won’t be any shutdowns. We’ve moved on to a different way of working – we won't be closing airspace.”1
Unfortunately government and industry are still not listening to the cries of our planet. For pilots to adjust the flight paths of aircraft to avoid ash, even with the new scanning technology available, is dangerous and irresponsible.
The purpose of the volcanoes, as in the case of the other global disasters is to cleanse the planet from the damage we have caused. The volcanoes ash has a role to play. Its purpose is to stop aircraft from flying in the world’s busiest area of airport traffic on our planet. This is a gentle warning.
What is the volcano teaching us?
In very simple terms the answer is ‘independence’. We rely too heavily on airfreight for our food instead of growing closer to home. We are aware of the carbon footprint this generates, but still we continue to do this. In addition to this our own economy is in desperate need of investment. If people were to take more of their holidays in their own country, then this would be kind to the environment and to their economy. Once international travel is cleaner to the environment, then foreign travel will be acceptable to the planet. This is the message the Transport Secretary should have made. However, his lack of foresight reminds us not to follow the advice of any individual based on their positions of authority – we should follow our hearts. There is no better way of determining the truth than this.
Also this week, a Kent doctor could face a disciplinary hearing after discussing his Christian faith with a non-Christian patient. “Dr Richard Scott, from Margate, has received a warning from the General Medical Council (GMC) after it received a complaint."2

For the General Medical Council to impose their own belief-structure on its members with no evidence to support that God does not exist, is clearly wrong. The GMC decision to hold a disciplinary hearing is based on fear and the need to control.
Niall Dickson, the chief executive of the GMC, said: "The GMC does not discuss individual cases but our guidance, which all doctors must follow, is clear; doctors should not normally discuss their personal beliefs with patients unless those beliefs are directly relevant to the patient's care.”3
“Dr Scott said that after about 20 minutes he thought the patient may be helped if they had a spiritual discussion.”4
What Dr Scott is being told by the Universe is that he has found independence and as such will no longer work within a dictatorship. Dr Scott was right to discuss the spiritual aspects of his patient’s well being. We are not only physical beings and as such if we wish the healing process to take place effectively, then all aspects of our mortal fabric, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, need to be addressed.
So what can we expect in the future?
As we discover independence, we will change the old ways. Because the planet is shifting it's vibration upwards, we will no longer be able to work in areas that do not fulfil our soul purpose. Dr Scott is a living example of this change and through his courage he will help others to do the same. People will look more to independent healers as they become disillusioned with the restrictions placed on controlled medicinal care. Many will be aware of the problems associated with the pharmaceutical industry and will look for safer and more effective alternatives. People will also discover the law surrounding the use of only licensed drugs has far less to do with protecting the public and a great deal more to do with protecting the pharmaceutical industry itself.
The other significant change resulting in independent thought will mean we will have little need to rely on governmental bodies as we currently do. In the case of the Transport Minister, he has shown that a lack of vision and sympathy for our planet and the safety of human lives is secondary to supporting industry and trade. The consequence of further carbon emissions and climate change will eventually show people the need for independent thought and self-governing.

Finally this week saw ‘Fugitive Bosnian Serb war crimes suspect Ratko Mladic has been arrested in Serbia after 16 years on the run. Gen Mladic, 69, was found in a village in northern Serbia where had been living under an assumed name. He faces charges over the massacre of at least 7,500 Bosnian Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica in 1995.’5
This is an extreme example of where a lack of independent thought can lead to mass murder based on fear and hatred. Whether Ratko Mladic was guilty or not, somewhere along the line many did what they where told, rather than doing what was right.

So what can we do?

Much more than we think. As a child, my mother used to say to me, “if someone told you to stick your head in the oven would you do it?”
With global warming the planet is becoming like an oven. A huge oven that if we put our heads in the sand – the oven will explode. My mother’s words of wisdom showed the importance of independent thought. I can give you a long list of things you can do to prevent global warming and the disasters that would follow. However this defeats the object of my message, which is to empower you to find independence.
You must decide. I will help your decision-making by leaving you with one thought.
What ever you decide to do, always ask yourself, “Is this for the higher good of all?’ In doing this you will bring about change – the right change.
My own pictures above and below are illustrations for a poem I wrote called. ‘King of Trees’ and is taken from my book ‘The Angel Book of Hours’. I have included the poem below in the hope it will help you to find your own independence and so the path to contentment.

King of Trees

“A king we need,” the trees agreed,
“A tree that’s very strong.
A kindly, very wily tree,
A tree that’s void of wrong.

But should the crown be Hawthorn,
Or a no-thorn, Oak or Yew?”
Then one-thorn had the answer,
“We should ask God what to do.”

And so God sent an angel,
Who was very large indeed,
The likes of whom had not been seen,
And they were very pleased.

The angel’s feet engulfed their roots,
As saplings cried in glee.
His wings continued through the clouds,
For every tree to see.

“It matters not who you decide,
For any tree is fine.
But if you’re looking for advice,
Then choose the quiet Lime.”

Now several trees were happy,
Gently clapping with their leaves.
But many raised objection,
That they strongly disagreed.

“There must be better trees than this?
For few are strong as Oak,
Or fairer than the Cherry,
Or these other noble folk.

His point of view he rarely makes,
His silence clearly shows.
This Lime does lack a wisdom,
Proving little does he know.”

“The path to gaining wisdom
Is accepting others’ views.
For every tree has different thoughts,
And some that work for you.

The Lime has learned acceptance,

Of itself and others’ fate.
His king is independence,
In his quiet growing state.”

Wisdom of the Week – Life

A friend suggested at the beginning of this week I should perhaps do a blog on the subject of life. I said that it was an interesting idea as we are expecting three Lipizzaner foals to be born very soon. We laughed together saying wouldn't it be funny if one was born this Friday in time for the blog. Then at 6.30 on Friday evening a new life was born. One of our mares gave birth to a beautiful colt. After our great joy, the concern set in as he was finding it hard to suckle from his mother. We tried to help him but realized that we had to just leave them both alone. The foal staggered about searching for his mother’s teats and although she stood like a rock he could not find them. Knowing the problems this could cause we began to worry.

Eventually nature took its course and the foal found its mother's teats to drink from for the first time. Therefore when left alone, the mother succeeded with her patience and understanding.

This week saw claims in the media by Harold Camping an American, who from his close study of the Bible believes that the end of the world will be tomorrow, the 21^st May 2011.

‘He says a huge earthquake will strike on May 21, when just 200million ‘true believers’ will be lifted to Heaven.

The forecast for everyone else is not so cheery – 153 days of ‘horror and chaos beyond description’ until the planet is destroyed.

Mr Camping, 89, said: “There is no possibility that it will not happen. We do not have a plan B.”

Among those convinced by the prediction is Robert Fitzpatrick, 60, who spent his £86,000 life savings on an advert campaign warning New Yorkers of the end.’1

However, Mr. Campling has picked up on the number 21. It has been known for some time amongst the spiritual community that the end of the old era and the beginning of the new will fall on the 21^st December 2012. To most it will seem like another day, to those who are psychic, the day will present remarkable spectacles as higher spiritual beings choose to share this great moment with us. It is likely that Earth will react in some way on this day and it will lead to the process of cleansing, but the end result will not destroy the planet.

So what will actually happen?

Everything is made up of vibrations. In very simple terms, the higher the vibration the more spiritually advanced something becomes. Earth also has a vibration and is currently at a 3^rd dimensional frequency. At 11.11am on the 21^st December 2012 the vibration of the planet will rise to a 5^th dimensional frequency. In this historic cosmic moment great light will pour into the planet. Never before has a planet shifted so dramatically in the history of the Universe.

So why is this happening?

For the first time we have never been so close to destroying ourselves and our natural world. The Universe has stepped in and will not allow this to happen as all is connected. What we do here affects the whole of the cosmos. In crude terms we must either shape-up or ship-out.

How will this happen?

Our planet will be cleansed. Cleansing takes place in two ways through fire and through water. The disasters you are seeing in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and America etc. are merely warnings. The disasters will be global and huge. It is sad to think that only when human beings are on their knees in desperation, are they prepared to change. However if change does not occur, then this will be the outcome.

Life is a precious gift that allows us to learn great lessons. Under the laws of the Universe we are all entitled to learn and grow. However, we are not entitled to leave a trail of destruction behind us, in order to achieve this.

What can we do?

Think.
Think about what we eat and where it comes from.
Think about how we treat people.
Think about how we treat animals.
Think about how we use chemicals.
Think about anger.
Think about charity.
Think about kindness.
Think about independence.
Think about love.
Think about change.
Think about life.

You will read this blog on Sunday as Mr. Camping's predictions have been manipulated by media hype. What Mr. Camping has shown is that the Universe is watching over us and if we fail to act responsibly, then the gift of life will be taken away from us until we do.

Be grateful, be responsible and be the best of yourself. Remember you are part of God.

I will leave you with a poem I wrote called ‘What is love?’ It is taken from my ‘The Angel Book of Hours.’ A friend who was getting married asked me to write a poem for her wedding which I was very happy to do. The poem talks about a love that is all forgiving, accepts and understands. It makes no demands and is not confined to only those close to us. It is an angelic love.

When we learn to love unconditionally, the process of healing can begin. It is this love that God has for us. Breathing life into our bodies, bringing joy to our heart, the power of love is revealed – in the essence of Life.

What is love?
What love is not,
With ease I’ll say,
For true love
Never drifts away.

To cherish,
Yet to give them space,
With thoughts of love
Upon your face
Is stronger than the rope of steel,
You may have held,
To make them heel.

“I loved them once,
But things have changed,”
Is not the way
Our Lord behaves.
Love stands so strong,
That winds from Hell
Have no effect, from tales we tell.

Expecting or demanding love
Is not what happens high above.
So as in Heaven so below,
The source of love will freely flow.

And if the rules,
By which you live,
They break,
Well you must then forgive.
For this your Father does for you,
As what we take,
We too should do.

To truly love another soul,
Is just a part of being whole.
For you will see a time one day,
When everyone, you’ll love this way.

Wisdom of the Week – Sex, Drugs and Religion. Part 1 Sex

A friend once asked me what the angels thought of us when we masturbate. After smiling I explained the angels do not judge but understand us. I could then sense the angels were also smiling at what my friend had said and it reminded me how angels love laughter and are often amused at how seriously we take ourselves.
We are all at different stages of spiritual development, all learning complex lessons. Controlling our emotions and finding balance are where the demands of our body can teach us to grow.
Each of us has a feminine and masculine element. However, when we incarnate into a physical body, we have to choose one or the other. Angels are androgynous as their sexuality is in perfect balance. They can reveal themselves in either the feminine or masculine form. It is this balance that we are learning to develop.
What about homosexuality?
When we choose our life's lessons, our higher selves decide whether these lessons would be better learnt in a male or female body. The past lives of a soul may have been more familiar with the opposite gender. There can be a longing for what was once earlier understood, choosing to express their sexuality as they had in the past. There are also very challenging tests as a homosexual due to the obvious prejudice of many. In much darker times, homosexuals were treated very badly and would have suppressed their feelings. We are now seeing a great number who wish to be born at a time where they can be more accepted and fulfil their life’s lessons. Long ago when the planet was at a higher frequency, homosexuals were loved and honoured in the same way heterosexuals were. A clear benchmark of how advanced any society is, can be measured by how the majority treat those in the minority.
So how is sex for pleasure viewed by the Universe opposed to sex for reproduction?
It is important to remember that it is not the act itself that makes sex beautiful or barbaric, but the intention. If sex is entered into with two willing people with love and is not at the detriment to another, then this is a divine expression. If however a person is unconsenting, below the legal age and is violated in some way, then the perpetrator will accrue karma that will have to be repaid. For those who violate children or the elderly, the karmic burden is heavy indeed. We often hear of such cases where people have been abused and ask why this was allowed to happen. There are many reasons why someone will be abused. It could be that the abused person has undertaken an ‘initiation,’ in order to show others how we must learn to honour each other. If this person can forgive the abuser, the reward for spiritual growth is immense. It may also be the case that the person who is being abused is repaying karma from a past life. By forgiving those who violate us, the vicious circle is broken and the karmic debt is repaid. The act of forgiveness is so powerful as a means of removing karma, because humans at this level find it so very difficult to do. You can help to master this by remembering that none of us are perfect.
So does God punish us when we do something wrong?
No – God is love. We are all forgiven for our failings. However, we cannot change the laws under which the Universe governs us. Our higher selves would not wish for us to be treated differently from any other soul. Therefore, at a higher soul level, we will agree to settle our debts.
So what is the divine purpose for sex?
It was originally meant as a means of expressing love to the one we cherish. It was the means of bringing new life into the world and sharing in a commitment to fully experience unconditional love and to strengthen a relationship.
This changed as it was then used in a way that had not been intended by the spiritual realms. The church then used sex as a means of control and instilling guilt, forcing people to believe it was wrong for a child to be born out of wedlock. Those seeking power and wealth used it as a lucrative means for substituting love. Others through a lack of self-worth used it to gratify themselves through lust rather than through love.
So how do the angelic realms view marriage with someone of the same sex?
In the same way they view a heterosexual marriage. When two people commit themselves to each other through love, then this is considered to be a divine undertaking. Marriage is a contract sealed by two people and not by God. The angels do not judge us based on the gender of those committed to marriage, but are dedicated to helping any couple in their time together.
Marriage provides us with the opportunity to learn a sense of commitment. It gives us support if we feel vulnerable. It develops unconditional love and our capacity to forgive. Lessons are always more difficult to learn when it concerns someone you truly care for.
Do we need to learn celibacy to become spiritually advanced?
Some religious groups such as the Buddhist faith and the Catholic Church adopt celibacy as part of their order, however, this is very hard to achieve and especially for men. If any challenge is forced upon us before we are ready, then this can lead to frustration, anger and in some cases abuse. Some souls will choose a life of celibacy to develop, but like all of us, if they fail, then they are given the opportunity again in another life.
From a higher spiritual level, sex is of course an expression of love. Through love there is life. Therefore, the act of sex is the catalyst of life and on which I would like to conclude this subject.
‘A baby girl who was said to be ‘clinically dead’ by doctors has amazed her family by recovering from meningitis. Lillie-Mai’s parents were told it would be best if her life-support machine was switched off.
But Belinda Little and Rupert Jackson refused to give up on their child and knew she was pulling through when the little battler started responding to noise. Mr Jackson, 31, said: ‘I noticed that every time someone closed the door and it banged there would be a small response. It wasn’t much but I could see her reacting.’
Lillie-Mai was 14 weeks old when she contracted the killer virus on January 11. Two days later she suffered a heart attack in hospital.
Although she pulled through, the girl’s body was horribly swollen and her parents were told she had two hours to live. Miss Little, 22, said: ‘They said if she had another cardiac arrest they would not intervene. It was as though I was stuck in a nightmare.’
Lillie-Mai had 11 major operations while doctors fought to save her and has lost both her legs and an arm to the disease.
Her parents, of Maryport in Cumbria, are now raising the £20,000 needed to pay for bionic legs with flexible knees.’1

This article was published this year on May 11^th. Lillie-Mai contracted the virus this year on January 11^th. Lillie-Mai also had eleven major operations. Numbers are significant. The spiritual world uses them to show us that these events are not just random coincidences, but opportunities for learning. Lillie-Mai demonstrated to us the importance of life and even when all seemed to be against her, she was determined to survive. Eleven is a number often associated with bad events, but from a spiritual perspective eleven is the beginning of something significant and wonderful at a higher level. In Lillie-Mai’s case, she has shown us that life is truly precious and not to be taken for granted, denigrated or taken from us prematurely by another.

This is so often not the case, as many are confused believing it is acceptable to take another’s life under certain circumstances. However, karma will be accrued whatever the circumstances.
We are born out of love and so as we came into this world, this is how we should leave. Ready to continue on our spiritual journey of growth and understanding; the journey of life.
A friend came to me one day and said his wife was experiencing post-natal depression. I asked the angels for some guidance and the result was a poem I wrote called, ‘The Joy of Life.’ This poem is taken from my book, ‘The Angel Book of Hours.’ My illustration for the poem is above. I presented my friend with the poem and he told me later that he had handed it to his wife one morning while she was in bed with her baby. When he returned a few minutes later she was crying. I would like to think that perhaps her tears – were out of joy.

The Joy of Life

The baby lay within her arms,

And knew his mother’s tears
Were shed not out of love for him,
But fell from all her fears.

He asked his guardian angel,
“Can you make my Mummy smile?”
And he was told that patience
Will reveal this in a while.

The infant was determined,
And insisted, “Help her now.”
The angel said, “Great courage
You will need, so this is how.

You know not where you are,
Or if the food upon your lips
Will cease to last, but now I ask,
You trust her then with this.

I ask you so to smile,
And know your mother loves you much.
But fear and her exhaustion
Brings a sadness that is such.

One day you’ll be a parent
Understanding how she feels,
So in her weary arms, my child,
The joy of life – reveal.”

We understand drugs have the capacity to harm or heal. We know taking drugs for medical reasons is socially acceptable opposed to using them for pleasure. It is true that narcotics can allow us to visit spiritual planes in the same way meditation will. However, the danger taking this route is addiction, pressure on the heart and the destruction of cells. It is important to mention that if you are of a positive state of mind your experience will be different than if you are negative. It is the difference of experiencing heaven or hell. Practising meditation will clear your mind and answer many questions you may have. It is the corner stone in achieving a state of oneness and spiritual enlightenment.

What are we doing wrong?
Because of greed and ignorance the world has become awash with manufactured chemicals that are harming us and the planet.

Everything we need to remain healthy and in balance is naturally available to us. Yet chemicals pollute our air in the form of fossil fuel emissions; our drinking water is laced with fluoride which is highly poisonous; our sea water contains industrial waste, detergents and plastics; our food is full of artificial additives, preservatives and steroids; our fruit and vegetables are grown with the aid of pesticides, artificial fertilisers and fungicides and our bodies are being subjected to chemical creams and dyes to our hair. It is therefore no surprise that our bodies struggle with what we throw at them. We then try to remedy the problems by resorting to more chemicals known as drugs – some may call it medicine.

In Dr. Earl Conroy’s book on nutritional food and holistic healing he says, 'Eva Hill (a doctor, who is a prominent cancer specialist) has placed most of her cancer patients on an almost all raw food regimen, which is very effective. If raw food will help to control cancer, certainly it will aid in preventing cancer.'1

Dr. Conroy continues by saying, 'To attain optimum health it seems that a higher percentage of raw food is essential. Optimally, 60 to 80% raw food grown organically, (with no artificial fertilizers or dangerous sprays), adequate protein and mineral supplements, and judicious use of cooked food, will result in vibrant heath which can last for far longer than we generally consider possible. Old age and senility, according to nutritional research is evidence of increasing nutritional deficiencies and growing toxaemia. Overcoming toxaemia, deficiencies, stress and unfavourable environments, could lead to exuberant health past the century mark, as is reasonably common in Russia, Bulgaria, Hunza and Vilacambaba Ecuador.'2

Dr. Conroy’s holistic healing approach sees growth as fundamental in achieving our goal in life. The growth of energy and wellbeing involves six equal parts demonstrated by the use of a hexagon, they are:

• Health – eating natural and pure foods.

• Work – doing work you enjoy and is natural to your skills.

• Family – creating a sense of belonging.

• Spirituality – a sense of a meaningful existence, which can connect not only with Mother Earth but with the cosmos as well.

• Aesthetic appreciation – a need to express ourselves in a creative context be it art, music, dance, theatre, landscaping or literature etc.,

• Social expression – the need to share ourselves with others.

This wider holistic approach is the correct approach to take. Manufactured drugs may remove the symptoms, but the cause of the problem will still be present. This is why many manufactured drugs often need to be taken for long periods, sometimes for the rest of the patient’s life. An example of this is the common drug – statins.

A study was published in the journal ‘Metabolism’ that shows a combination diet of vegetables, fruit and nuts may be as effective as statins. 'Researchers in Canada have developed a vegetarian combination diet which they say cuts cholesterol by almost a third in just one month. The diet includes vegetables, such as broccoli and red peppers; soy milk and soy sausages; oat bran cereal and bread; and fruit and nuts. The researchers believe the food programme could be a possible drug-free alternative to cutting cholesterol and protecting people from heart disease.'

The article on the BBC website continues by stating, 'These drugs have been used extensively for 15 years to treat patients with high levels of cholesterol. Professor Jenkins said further and larger studies are needed before the diet could be recommended to patients. He said: "The take home message right now is that there is hope for a drug-free treatment for some people with high cholesterol.” '3

This article was published in December 2002. Dr. Earl Conroy’s was published in 1981. Like so many things, common sense takes time to filter through.

So why do we turn to conventional medicine opposed to alternative remedies?
We are mislead is the simplest answer. Doctors are committed to improving our health. But they are lead by the research undertaken by the drugs companies on their own products. There are huge opportunities for conflict of interest to ensue. Manufactured medicines are also extremely powerful but by their nature they are man-made and do not contain the essence of nature. Natural discoveries such as penicillin and opium for pain relief are effective examples where nature provides us with what we need.

So what is the answer?
Independence. Take charge of our lives and feed ourselves with honour and dignity. We must explore safer alternatives, that are natural. We must finally recognise that bad health is the body’s mechanism warning us that we are doing something wrong.

Herbal medicines are cheap and like homeopathy will not harm you. They are however, a gentle medicine that will take time to work. For this to happen we must remain positive, stress-free and give ourselves plenty of rest.

However, because of our stressful lives, it is convenient to resort to manufactured drugs. Though powerful they are potentially dangerous and extremely expensive. This week saw an example of how the controversial cannabis plant saved a little boy’s life who was dying of cancer. This story reminds us to be careful what we consider to be bad. It shows that the alchemy of God is perfect, yet our humble efforts may be not.

‘A desperate father whose son was suffering from a life-threatening brain tumour has revealed he gave him cannabis oil to ease his pain. And he has now apparently made a full recovery. Cash Hyde, known as Cashy, was a perfectly healthy baby when he was born in June 2008 but became sick shortly before his second birthday. At first he was misdiagnosed with glandular fever before his parents Mike and Kalli, from Missoula in Montana, were given the devastating news he had a serious brain tumour.

The little boy had to have arduous chemotherapy treatment to reduce the growth, which had drastic side effects including seizures and a blood infection. His distraught parents were repeatedly told he was likely to succumb to the illness because the condition was so bad. After one bout of high-dose chemotherapy, Cash was so weak he could not lift his head and was too sick to eat any solid food for 40 days. It was at this point that Mr Hyde decided to take action and go down the route of medical marijuana to try to help his young son.

Mr Hyde said: “He hadn't eaten a thing in 40 days - and, it was really incredible to watch him take a bite of a piece of cheese. It shows that he wants to live'. He credits the cannabis oil with helping his son get through the chemo, and say Cash has now been declared cancer free by doctors. The boy is now back and home and living the life of a typical young boy, playing with his elder brother Colty.”

The father continued by saying, 'It's very controversial, it's very scary. But, there's nothing more scary than losing your child.” ‘4

The poem reminds us of our obsession with cleansing and defacing what is already perfect – from the tarnishing of metal to the wrinkles in our skin. Yet we do this to the detriment of our living Earth.

What harm is there in dust?

What harm is there in dust?
Why can’t they leave it just to settle?
Instead they scrub the changing face,
Of plastic, wood and metal.

Clear waters take their effluence,
As skin is cleansed with oil.
But deep beneath the seas and skin,
The scene is one of spoil.

It breaks my heart to see a world,
Where greed is such a must.
The World will seem then very clean,
When Man reverts to dust.
